Glacier Gardens Eagles, Juneau Alaska - 2019 Season

Post by sassyk » Mon Apr 15, 2019 2:27 pm

Welcome to the Glacier Gardens Eagles thread for the 2019 season.

The nest is located within the Glacier Gardens, in Juneau Alaska. Many thanks to the folks at Glacier Gardens for providing us with the opportunity to watch these eagles. These eagles successfully fledged two eaglets last season and hopefully there will be a fuzzy chick to watch this season.

You will find additional information on the Glacier Gardens web page. I had the pleasure of visiting the Glacier Gardens in the spring of 2005 when in Juneau on an Alaska cruise. It is a beautiful serene atmosphere in the gardens and I hope you enjoy watching this pair of bald eagles on their webcam.

Thanks Marianne for alerting me that the eagles have an egg :woohoo: Thanks Shoupie for the great screen captures. Maybe Mama will lay another egg today, if she hasn't already :luck:

I've been busy getting ready for my cruise and have been checking on the nests I monitor in my area. Quite a few of them have chicks :thumlft:

I'll be away from May 4th until May 28th so I won't be able to watch the nest. I'll be in Juneau but won't be going to the gardens. I'll have a look to see if I can see the nest from the ship. Enjoy watching everyone :bye 1:

sassyk have a wonderful trip! No egg today, Papa is currently on the nest after convincing Mama by stepping on her head, lol

Hi Shoupie, since Mama laid her 1st egg at 8:49 pm, I guess there’s still a chance she’ll lay another later today :luck:
Papa stepping on Mama’s head was too funny :mihihi: :mihihi: . Thanks for the s’cap.

Hi everyone! I was taking a quick look today, and am not seeing anything about a second egg - though seeing how deep the nest is, it would be hard to tell unless you happened to be watching when it was laid.
