Thank you Annemie for the great photos of the Lafarge eaglets "Apollo & Artemis" I'm so happy they are now named
Thank you Steamer and EastVanGirl both your ground observations are great for all the regulars of Lafarge
Thanks Gemini for explaining why we may not be able to have a cam in the future at the Pandora nest.....I realized that when I saw your post as I tried before Diana to get a cam a few years back at Vanier Park but due to it being under Vancouver's Park Board and next to the Coast Guard Station and lack of $20,000 we were unable to do so.
Karen no need to explain I knew all that previously....the only thing you did to offend me was to say no when I first asked to name the Lafarge eaglets I wanted to name them after David as I think he eventually needs an eaglet, I don't care which nest, after him as it is he that we are all here to watch these eagles nests and their young : Maybe next year I'll submit Hancock for a bobbles name that sounds good "Hancock" the eaglet/eagle what do you think
Can't come to Fledge fest as the weather is too hot for me and I'm getting old

You're welcome JudiW
Speaking of the heat ...…..only Pa and either Apollo or Artemis spotted on my morning walk perched in the shade to the east of the nest. Given the extreme heat today the other eaglet must be hiding out from view in a nice shady {invisible} spot

Thanks for keeping such a good watch on Apollo and Artemis, steamer, Annemie and Eastvan Girl! They are about 11 weeks old now, so could fledge soon (or they may wait until it's a bit cooler - I would! )
Wonderful to see them doing so well.

I wish I could go to the nest today to report on Artemis but I feel suffocated and chest is heavy with this heat here in Vancouver but it is suppose to cool down by tomorrow, now we have to depend on Pa or Lady Lafarge hunting skills to grab a fish from Burrard Inlet or a seagull from the air like Pa is so famous for....how does the garden grow EastVanGirl? good luck Annemie and Steamer

A rare treat!....family day at the Pandora location at 9.50 AM.
Pa on his favorite westerly perch, Ma on a northern branch just up from the nest and Apollo and Artemis both branching on the south east side of the nest and tree. One was up higher on the end of a long branch.
Won't be long before they fledge!

Good for Pa Lafarge on his 2018 eagle family as he's always been a good hunter and food provider for fish and seagull meals to Lady and now Apollo & Artemis...….Lady was there to feed Artemis as I bet Apollo was feeding his/her self...….did Appollo fledge or just branch Steamer?
And great news about Artemis he made it back to the nest when Pa brought in the food I bet …….screeching all the way up those eaglets are a noisy talkative cuties when they fledge and fly around the nest tree
Fledge time

Both were just branching at Pandora St. when I saw them this morning JudiW.
When I went out for a quick shopping run this afternoon I did see a fledging up in the air about a block from where I live. Hard to say though if it was one of the 2 Hastings/PNE eaglets or a first run by one from Pandora St.
Annemie and I will try to find out later whose taken the big leap out into the world when we check on both nearby nests.....

No fledge yet....both Apollo and Artemis near the nest when we arrived. Looks like we just caught the tail end of a feeding session.
Ma hiding a few branches down in the shade
Annemie took some photos which I'm sure she'll post later.....
Looks like it was one of the Hastings/PNE eaglets I saw in the neighborhood today

Hi everyone,
Steamer, I caught that 'family moment' yesterday, too. It was a real treat to see all four of them at the Pandora tree.
Right now one is on Pa's branch, and looks like another hidden up in a branch above the nest.
The other day I was at New Brighton Park and watched an eagle that kept going out over the water and then headed back in the direction of the Pandora tree. I figured it was one of our Lafarge adults fishing - was nice to see just where they go when they leave the nest.
Happy Thursday everyone!!!
