Reminds us of the situation at the Hancock Wildlife Bald Eagle nest at Roberts Bay, Sidney, BC last year where the eagles raised a Red-tailed hawklet in their nest successfully. Sorry to hear this situation at Pinnacles in California did not have a happy ending though.

+ May 25 - Decorah North : DN7 and DN8 (7 and 5 days old) United for eternity, so never alone. They both joined DN6 in the heavens
the DNN chat said: "Shelliott (Moderator): We are sorry to announce that both DN7 & DN8 perished today. RRP will make an official statement but we believe that it was most likely due to the severe gnat infestation which can clog airways. Heat may have been a secondary factor." Thanks RitaR for sharing the last one with me.
Bald Eagle Cam - Decorah North Nest | A tribute to DN7 & DN8 from Eagle Cam
DNN | This video was meant as a first week video, but turned into a tribute to both eaglets as they past this afternoon (5-25-2018).

This is only my feelings after what happened a week ago
After the first egg broke i stayed every day with Mom and Dad Decorah North until the magnific surprises, 2 eggs then 2 beautiful eaglets and i never imagine a so terrific end. I wrote it 3 days after.
What to say now three days after the tragedy ?
i thought i have no more tears after that time but if i write on a letter rather than the screen, i'm sure nobody could read it as an ocean of tears should recover the paper and erase the ink on it?
DN7 and DN8, 7 and 5 days spent with both of you, a so short while for some but in a same time a so long time for me.
I waited for your arriving more than 30 days as i stayed there, whishing for your coming after the first egg was broken under Mom,
then seeing you friday morning so living during yours 2 first meals of that 25th of May?
When i left you around 10 am that day, i never could have imagined that it was the last time we share all three together a so good moment, you, so happy, so loved, so beautiful, never !
Now you already joined yours famous elder, i'm sure you met DN6, DH3 and DH4, Dad Decorah and so many others, follow them, trust them, they know the way, but you already know that?
But you know one thing i'm truly sure, as i said already to so many, i will met you in a while and even i'm so sure, that future day, YOU will find me? DN7 and DN8, i will never forget you. Come around your nest often during the brooding process, you future siblings may need your help.
When i watch the sky, i know you are here soaring so high, i can't see you, only imagine you, but i know you are here with us DN7 and DN8.
Merci to my Eagle Family too ! i am from all my heart with all of you who lost such a close relatives, families, friends? and those who are in pain.
Mom and Dad Decorah North, i share all your feelings too. I will come back to support you.

They are gone but not forgotten,
eagles, osprey, hawks, owls, young and old,
we know we choose to be their followers,
as they show the joy of life unfolding....
Upward they go, down here we look up,
smile, they were here, and we noticed.

Re: In Memoriam
Sorry Karen
I thought that MIA was an acronym for "missing in action".
It's why i didn't declare her + (dead)
i did the same for Dad Decorah, Dad Honeycombs, Dad Delta2 and Hope (Mom of Fulton)
As soon as she will appear, i will erase what i wrote about her of this Memoriam thread

Rip 2018
+ August 24 - Discovery Center, Olympic Park in Sydney, AUS : White bellied sea eagle SE22, just 1 month old. Starvished and killed by his sibling.
All your young predecessors are around you to welcome you and reassure you, DH4, DN7, DN8, Valor … I'm sure SE 19 is there too. You do not suffer anymore. Everybody love you and support you. You are wonderfully well. Rest in peace little angel!
All my thanks to Lady Hawk for these photos of SE22 but he already knew the answer, Tomorrow!
All these are from the Lady Hawk's video named "White Bellied Sea Eagle Cam ~ Sweet SE22 Closeups 8.23.18"
