First and foremost, the offical statement from DHEC regarding the unfortunate loss of DH4:
I’m sorry to report we have lost one of our eaglets. We wish for all to go well day to day in the wild with 2 healthy chicks, but we cannot hand out guarantees. Odd things happen. The video has been reviewed and most likely healthy DH4 was in the wrong place at the wrong time, caught a talon from a parent, and the rest is history. Young hatchlings face many obstacles, but don't be sad, celebrate what you get to enjoy. We are moving on here and excited about the events to come. Please join us on this journey.
We will never know what truly happened. She could have been sick and we just didn't know it. Yesterday, DH4 and DH5 were able to spend a while alone in the nest and observing their surroundings. Oh Stephanie, I so hate to read that little DH 4 has passed on. This nest was just beginning to resume some normalcy. Prayers and hugs to you, Bev, Philjo and and all who watch this nest. 
I really feel bad now that I said it was DH4 getting fed this morning. I know h/s is soaring high with DH3, B11 and all others before them. RIP sweet one.
