As the Hamlet nesting season comes to a conclusion, we praise "The Hamlets" for a wonderful and certainly memorable season. Here is the Season Timeline (2 formats). Samson doesn't have a departure date, as he is still in the area (which is typical for him).

Today is World Turtle Day. "Turtles are one of the world’s oldest reptile groups, dating back much further than snakes, crocodiles, and alligators. These organisms predate dinosaurs, having evolved 250 million years earlier. Apparently, there are 300 kinds of turtles in the world, with 129 of them being endangered. That is the reason why World Turtle Day is celebrated internationally. People are reminded on this day how important it is to help turtles live and grow in their natural habitat."

MONDAY TUCK-IN: Yes, a tuck-in report!! We saw several deer below the nest but no Samson at the nest, LY or ET. However, as we were leaving, I saw an eagle that sure looked like Samson across the street (out of the Hamlet) perched (photo below). I believe he will remain in the area for awhile, but likely not always spotted. SED Samson! SED everyone! All S'Caps are © American Eagle Foundation, www.eagles.org AEF - NEFL
Goodnight Samson Bonjour Philjo . Good Night Farniente
