Hi Heather and Karen...so exciting. I remember that season too, Karen...I'm sure that we all do, and the memory was kind of an elephant in the room. But, no more...that chick was really working away - very active!

Mom keeps moving around so I am sure she feels the movement of the egg.
I have also been worried about the viability of the egg but there is no question now! :woohoo:

Great Bev....I wasn't taping on the NPTZ, but I am now!

Mom just up and we only got a wee glance at the egg...think I heard little chirps too, Heather.. :)

Untitled 10454.jpg
lol Gail...I forgot to mention when I first saw the pip and zoomed the egg, I could see the egg moving...rolling a little back and forth. Mom wasn't close to it, so it wasn't her....

You are welcome Yolande...I think we were all worried the egg wouldn't be fertile ..but the chick is active and anxious to come in to the world ! :woohoo:
I will link your post to the Time line in the opening post if this nest thread... I am on :cloud9:

ETA.. Done .... I linked your post to the Time Line Yolande .......

This little one seems to be ready to break out and join the world, LOL! At least we will have no sibling rivalry and bonking to worry about!

WOW, what a wonderful surprise to see when checking in just now!!!
The pip is certainly larger than we usually see at the start, IMO.
This is so exciting - I didn't expect it yet and was also concerned that the egg wouldn't hatch this year.
What a relief!! :woohoo: :cloud9:

Mom continues to look up and around...but very relaxed.

Mom is 'screeping' a little...soft calls.

What is the quickest time an eaglet has hatched, from pip to hatch?

Gosh! I don't know, Heather...it's hard to know when the process starts unless you actually see it. The egg was zoomed not all that long ago, [1:06pm] so the pip was there, but probably nest down.

Second adult on the nest, and I think a switch from Mom to Dad. Not much chance to see the egg, but I also thought I heard a couple of peeps.
