Re: Some Helpful Hints
Formatting Font Size on the New Forum
Text that has been formatted in a font size other than Normal on the "old" forum does not copy over equally to our "new" Forum. You can correct that once the text has been copied into a post on the new forum simply by removing the old font formatting and using one of the default fonts available from the font icon dropdown menu on the post editing toolbar or by creating a custom font by changing the number in the first set of brackets in the code copied over.
Examples:
The font sizes below in red are forum defaults on the new forum (just the size not the colour!) The Fonts in blue have had their numbers changed within the coding bracket to create custom size fonts.
Default Fonts:
Tiny = 50
Small = 85
Normal
Large = 150
Huge = 200
Custom Fonts:
very small =65
Between Normal and Small = 90
Medium = 115
Very Large = 175

How to Link Back to an Individual Post
On the top left corner of the post to be "linked to," click either the little paper icon next to the user name or the "topic name" above it.
You will see the page refreshing - when it has - copy the URL in the browser address bar. This is the link you need to "Link Back" to the post.
Update: If you're going to paste the link on another forum or Facebook or anywhere other than in this forum, the little piece of paper icon seems to work better.

How to Report a PM
If another member sends you an abusive email - or if we accidentally admit a spammer who is sending out links or pictures that are not appropriate here - you can report the message by clicking the little button with the exclamation button in the upper right corner of the message.
That will open a screen that lets you pick a reason - and the last of the 4 reasons is basically "other" - and you can explain in the box below if appropriate.
The Admins will be notified that you have reported a PM, and will be able to see the PM and your comments - and they will be in touch with you if they have additional questions.

How to Contact Another member
1. Click the little balloon next to "contact" under the member’s avatar/name
2. Click the PM icon and it will open a PM addressed to the member. The PM will contain a link to the post, and the contents will be quoted - but you can delete those if you don't want to include them. It can be useful if you're commenting on their post - and deleting is quick if you're not.
*NOTE: . If “Contact” is not present under the avatar/name at all, the member has declined to receive PM’s.

How to Delete the Cookies the Forum Uses to Remember Your Login Info
This is not something most people need to do most of the time, but occasionally we make changes in the way we record this data, and having "old" cookies may interfere with using the new format ones. Each browser is a little different, so please click the link for your browser - and let us know if the info is out of date (browser makers seem to enjoy moving things around). Thanks!
Chrome
Firefox
Internet Explorer
Microsoft Edge
Safari (including iPhone)
If there are other browsers that people are using, please let me know (send a Private Message or email me at [email protected]), and I'll see if I can find someone who knows how to delete their cookies and add the instructions!
