Thank you all for the great coverage here today - I have a few projects that are taking a lot of time, and haven't been able to post as much as I'd like.

I think this may be Res, not Sur - I'm not seeing the feather that sticks up from her head much of the time (what we call her cowlick) - but looking at the right eye, I see white feathers coming right up to the eye, while Sur has darker skin showing under they eye much of the time, and I think his right eye is occasionally "weepy" (though it seems to work fine) so there can be a darker tinge to the feathers under it.

I hope she didn't lose that feather on the top of her head - it was such a good ID much of the time.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for posting, amandafrado.

I'm not able to log into the cams directly, so there is probably a problem at the site. I am not seeing a power outage reported on the BC Power Outage site - but I suppose there could be work being done near the nest site that required the power to be off locally. I have sent a message to our tech person Ken, but it is still early in BC so I haven't heard back from him yet. My guess is that he will have to make a visit to the site to see why the cams aren't working - and I'm not sure how soon he'll be able to do that.

I got this picture of Res and the eggs just after midnight from the dvr

It looks as if the cams went offline around 1:49 am.

This is my first time seeing Res and Sur incubating eggs! It is curious how difficult it is to tell them apart and I appreciate your observations in that regard!
It is a sunny/blue sky day here near Seattle and 51F/10C.
