At Captiva island the little Hope is at his worst, I will stay and watch over her :luck:

At 03h48, I saw all of her muscles relax. Hope flew away and joined Peace, her brother who left 11 days before. So strange, i heard the same crying that E14 had last year. Here too they said we'll see tomorrow ... :cry1:
how can these things still happen again. :brknhrt:

Poor little Hope, after a night of suffering alone in the nest, her tears finally drew her mother to her, but the poor did not know what to do to alleviate her daughter's pain. After so many crying, after some big convulsion Hope found her final place. At almost the end Connie flew away, Hope didn't noticed that as she was already conversing with Peace.
At 3:48 am her whole body relaxed, her feathers soaked with our tears. Peace had taken Hop with him to the other side where the word compassion has real meaning for everyone, leaving only her eaglet's clothes in the nest. RIP ma Belle !

Mom connie was there and left only 5 minutes before the end

At 03h43 a very big convulsion full of suffering made him stand up and open her wings wide, it will be the last time.

I don't know why they moved the cam at 04h35 as it is only a sleeping eaglet body we can see now.

Hope struggled all night. She tried to regurgitate something out, but only liquid came out of her beak.
At 3:42 am Mom was with her in the nest. She reared up and stretched her neck upward as if she could not breathe. 3:48 she died. It was infinitely sad to watch it all. It broke my heart.

No bad things to see only a sleeping (forever) eaglet

I’m devastated.
AEF is 100% responsible for this.
Hope and Peace don’t judge us, poor humans. You’ve been and still are loved by compassionate people...
Hope I tried to accompany you during your agony. You’re free from suffering now.

I don't usually post but I am so heartbroken about these two little eaglets :cry1: . When they hatched I was admiring how strong and active and feisty they are! The parents had done such a wonderful job as well, I feel devastated for them too :cry1: :brknhrt: . This is such a tragedy.
RIP Hope and Peace :brknhrt: :brknhrt:

:cry1: It was so joyfull to watch the Captiva eaglets from the beginning. No bonking, wonderful care from the parents... :brknhrt:

Where did the compassion and empathy of the people responsible for the cameras and from the institutions go? Everywhere only alibism and incantation with laws.

Philjo and Pascale, thanks for sharing

Like E14, these two beautiful eaglets Hope and Peace could have been called the "Sacrificed".

:cry1:
They are free and united, far from the stupidity of men at least.
Yesterday they allowed the Crow to retrieve Hope's remains, Nobody told them they were a couple of days or even a couple of weeks late ? That there was nothing more they could do to save Hope, it is true that they had done nothing for Peace either... and above all, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that for the Crow who does an admirable job.
It might also be the way to exonerate them, who knows? just politics. :cry1:

With thanks to

I tried to find some good information on raptors & rodenticide. This article is long & refers to other agencies but the main information is here & thought it could at least help everyone understand the gravity of rodenticide. Thank you. https://intobirds.com/save-our-raptors- ... 0poisoning.

I still ask myself a lot of questions.
How can a public office be so responsive to retrieve the corpse of an eaglet from the nest when it decided not to save it when it was still possible and many people reported movements and reactions sometimes inconsistent of (des) eaglets days before. Finally, those who are in charge of it may not warn them early enough and I think that some behavior needs to be changed as soon as possible.

Be careful, Attention Hope's remains are visible
