Hello, Bev and all! I hope that everyone in Teddy's path is staying safe. So far, I've seen far worse winds from nor'easters. But the day is still young. Fingers crossed that it's not too bad.
Is there to be any cleaning/maintenance work on the Harrison Mills cams?

I wondered if we were in the eye of the storm. We are west of the storm track, which they say is not expected to bear the brunt of the storm. Right now it's fairly calm here, but I know that Teddy is supposed to be a slow mover, so there will likely be more wind and rain overnight. We had a brief power outage earlier this afternoon, but power was restored fairly quickly. And the storm surge along our waterfront, while scary looking (see attached), was not the worst I've seen. It may be a different story at 1:42 a.m., when our next high tide arrives.
We are fortunate that we are not along Newfoundland's northern peninsula (a beautiful place that I remember fondly from a trip my husband and I took there back in 2006). It's going to barrel right up the Strait of Belle Isle, which runs between Newfoundland and Labrador. I'm afraid those folks are in for a rough time, and I worry about how much destruction will be wrought there.
It's too bad there will be no cleaning/maintenance at this nest. But I also know it's a particularly tough site to work on, because of the height of the nest tree.

Hi Bev, Heather, Sue, Marianne, Judy and all...
Stay safe Bev, Sue, and Marianne.....hope things don't get too bad for all of you!
Thanks Bev - I checked back to your post of only a few minutes ago and no visits to the nest....great to see the N embedded cam up...
Sorry to see there won't be any cam maintenance this year....I think it was left open-ended in Judy's last post. [ie. no final decision had been made] It is what it is, though, and I know Ken and Judy are doing their best to keep the cams up and running...thank-you!
