I just looked in for a little bit on the South cam using the zoomer link and all looked well. We are trying to figure out what's going on with the cams, but both Ken and I have other things going on in our lives that make it hard for us to spend too much time trying to investigate the inner workings of YouTube to figure out why our cams get disconnected after a few hours.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

It's looking a little less smoky - fingers crossed.

Hi everyone!

I'm afraid only our Delta 2 cams are streaming consistently at this point - but I have been able to find a few things for Ken to try to resolve the issue (which we think is either a bug in the new version of the YouTube software - or perhaps a learning curve for a very different way of linking the stream from the cam with our YouTube page). Whichever it is, we are hoping to resolve it soon - and are very happy it's happening now, while there's not a lot happening at the nest.

I've been busy with family things today so haven't been able to check the cams or check with Ken. The embedded cams are still down - and I don't know if Ken is still working at White Rock; I'll add an update if I learn more.

Here are a couple of pictures from the South cam zoomer link.

The third one should be looking towards the water from a ways back - though certainly not obvious from what we can see.

I'm not seeing any real changes on the nest, so expect our eagles are still up North enjoying the salmon buffets.

This is the water view I've posted a few times, with occasional boats on the water - no way to tell what's out there today.

There are some birds flying out there - the one in the circle might be an eagle. Maybe.

Hopefully Ken and I will find some time when we're both available today to do some more troubleshooting with the software for the embedded cams.

We think we found the main problem - Surrey South was our test cam, and it's now been streaming for 90 minutes; Ken said the streams had been going down in a minute or two.

Harrison Mills South is up but Harrison Mills North is not; I think I made the same changes to the YouTube software for both of them - but may have missed something. Ken may take a look after dinner.

I've sent Ken the new fixed stream keys for the White Rock cams, so he'll probably work on those next to try to get at least one of them up.

I've seen a squirrel (didn't get a picture) but that's about it.

Last year Res was seen on September 25 and Sur put in an appearance on September 28; the camera was installed but not yet streaming the previous year, so we don't know when they returned. And this year we don't know if the smoke will affect their return.
