EagleCAM . Sept 14 20202 Update and summary :
We are still monitoring the situation with SE26 closely.
For those who have missed previous timeline updates or replies to posts on our timeline:, here is a summary.
SE26 has mobility issues, evident since hatch. He has already made significant improvements and has adapted "somewhat" to his situation (how often is 26 second to the dining table?). SE26's development has consistently been about 7-10 days behind SE25 (mobility wise). This also applies to tarsus standing (how they get around for the first 5-6 weeks). Given that SE25 has only started "foot standing/walking" (still wobbling a bit) this past week, we're yet to see how much progress SE26 could make.
Our research license is granted by National Parks & Wildlife with a non-intervention policy, however, as we have done in the past, we can intervene if one of the eaglets falls from the nest. We'd prefer not to speculate on cause or potential outcome(s) while the nesting process has only just passed the halfway mark.

Re: 2020 Australian White-Bellied Sea-Eagle
I can take a hint
I've been trying to remember to add it to the description in the videos but I'm sure I've not been adding it to the pics that I post here.
I will attempt to remedy the situation. Please be patient with me, old dog/new trick kinda' thing.

A little "monkee see, monkee do" here. But, I'll bet there were a few hearts that took an extra beat or two with how close to the edge # 25 was.

G'morning all
Concerns over # 26's foot may... Or may not... ...be warranted.

From EagleCAM FB page. Aug 31 2020
Over the past week or so there have been many comments and speculation about the development of SE26 in particular.
The reality is we can only watch and see what develops.
As you all know, our policy, as approved by NPWS, is for non-intervention. There is no safe way indeed we could intervene, without endangering both chicks, the nests and even the parents. If in the future SE26 should fall to the ground, say on fledging, we would intervene and rescue him, and take into care.
There is plenty of food and both are being fed. There seems to be about a week difference in the development of the 2 little eagles.
At this stage, we can only watch and hope.
My warm thanks to you all for your wonderful observations and support of our Project though.
These are wild birds and it is still our great privilege
to watch them and feel wonder.

G'morning all
Dad delivers food and # 26 mantles over it until # 25 shoves him aside and proceeds to show just how it's done. This is the first time that I've seen self-feeding. A big step! This screen capture or video is courtesy of "EagleCAM @BirdlifeAustralia Discovery Centre, Sydney Olympic Park"
