Thanks Judy, that's what I thought but hard to tell where that is at from our cam angle.JudyB wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:29 amGood morning, everyone! I think the the crotch of the tree David is interested in is roughly 65 feet up.SueB wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:26 am8:25 am - still not seeing anyone by the evergreen....they most likely are on the other side of the tree at this point and maybe lower down. I heard something mentioned about the branch they are looking at being about 65 feet up or maybe it was meters, not sure

8:33 am - Can't see a thing....Maybe they are lower down than these views are showing
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:44 am - there they are!!! David and someone else, not sure who that someone is
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
They may need to trim some branches lower down before the lift can get close enough to the tree.

8:46 am - checking things out in the evergreen tree
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:47 am - checking the area that may be able to hold a nest....
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
I'm thinking Larry/Urban Eagle is an experienced lift operator who would volunteer to help if he was available. Not sure if that's him - I think I've met him, but I usually meet a lot of people all at once when we're in BC.

8:49 am - going up a little higher.....David please keep all arms inside....and hold on!
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:50 am - David pointing at this area maybe?

Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:53 am - the view with a lift and a couple people there seems very different. The tree branches look much bigger than they appear when we just have the eagles perched there
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:35 am - David is still assessing the tree I guess
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
8:57 am - the lift is moving away from the evergreen tree
Re: Delta2 2019 -2020 Observation and Discussion Thread
David said there were several smaller semi-vertical sub-trunks (not sure what to call them) that are going up beside the main trunk of the tree - and those smaller verticals are something like 18 inches at the base - so the tree is fairly large! I'm wondering if one or both of the cams might be placed on those verticals, allowing them to be a bit further away from the nest than was possible in the current tree. David is aware that as the eagles have built up the current nest, it's getting very close to the cams.
