:(
I hate to see this happen. Is a human feeding a juvenile eagle?
Not this lady obviously.
So the eagle associates people with food? :puzz:
Thanks to the rescue it was a good outcome for the woman and the eagle wasn't hurt.
Hope there are no more incidents.
Merci Philjo for the links.

There is no video, but if you search for "bald eagle and drone" you can read the news report.
The drone ended up in Lake Michican. ;)
Good job for the Eagle! :thumlft:

Well... why do I think that this juvie was captured for the worst (for him?)

I understand this poor lady was terrified, I hope she's OK but people need to understand they CANNOT approach wild animals, especially BE ! not mentioning feeding-baiting them is stupid as eagles might think people = food

I agree Pascale, I agree.
I refuse to feed sea gulls or wild geese, but people do all the time.

I did that the first time you spoke about this incident (BE vs drone) Hope and :luck: that the eagle didn't loose claws with the blades of the propeller :luck:

Merci Philjo.

I think this s'cap is from yesterday's Mississippi River Flway cam.
It was fascinating to watch this beautiful bird glide thru the water looking for a fish.

We Are Having Issues with the Forum

People who are signed in can post - but those who aren't logged in are getting error messages when they try to sign in.

It is not you or your internet provider - it's a forum issue.

Our tech person is working on this. We will probably have to bring the forum offline at least once as he's resetting things - and worst case scenario, we may need to revert to a backup that's 24-48 hours old, losing our posts for the last day or two. We hope it won't come to that, but if the server crash that took the forum down briefly yesterday damaged files, that may be necessary.

I haven't posted there yet - but if I get locked out or the forum goes down, I'll be posting updates on our backup forum - http://www.wildlifecamwatch.com/index.php under Welcome & HWF Updates and will also post updates on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Hancock-Wildli ... =bookmarks

Please let other folks know - I woke up to a lot of emails and won't get back to everyone right away. Thanks!

We Are Back!

We think people should now be able to log in again. If anyone is still having trouble, please let me know - [email protected] (or my personal email if you have it)

And we didn't have to reboot the forum - and we didn't lose any posts!

Big Thanks to David Hathaway!

Announcing Decorah and Decorah North Cam Shutdown

08-19-2020 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itTAMAuXi0U

Raptor Resource Project

The Decorah and Decorah North cams will shut down for maintenance at 5:00 PM CDT on Saturday, August 29. The chat mods for both cams will be holding special celebratory goodbye chats from 3 to 5pm. Come join us and relive your favorite moments at each nest! Many of you told us that our nests were a place of refuge and calm for you this year. We hope you know that you gave us strength, courage, and determination in the face of Covid-19 and so many other challenges. Thank you for watching, sharing, learning, and especially for caring!

If you are looking for something to watch after we shut down the Decorah and Decorah North cams, take a look at our Mississippi Flyway cams! As late summer turns to fall, it offers an excellent opportunity to see migrating birds and local wildlife! Our Flyway cam also offers a chat for anyone looking to learn and connect with kindred spirits.

Flyway cam: https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/flyway-cam/

Look for both cams to come back some time in early October!

Merci Philjo for the Decorah & Decorah North updates.
Yes, the Mississippi River Flyway cam is a great place to "perch" after the nesting season.
