2:58 pm Sunday morning with Mom and Dad Surrey Reserve! There has been much calling today and both seem to be close to the nest. Wondering if there is someone or something they feel threatened by!

Thank you all for the coverage this weekend! Charlie and I had a lovely time at his family farm, beginning the process of getting it ready in case any of the relatives will be able to come to Maine this summer.

Good afternoon, everyone!

From 11:29 am
Res arrived with more hay or straw - I'm wondering if they are doing some landscaping at the nearby housing project.

Sur took of soon after that, and Res took over incubation.

At 12:15 pm, Res did some calling. And then she flew off at 12:22 pm.

Sur arrived less than a minute later, did a quick check on the eggs and settled in. He did a lot of rearranging of the "fluff" on the nest, carefully tucking it in around him - so it was a couple of minutes before he slowed down enough that I could get a good s'cap.

It's now 12:37, and Sur is calmly looking around, and incubating the eggs.

I just have to post this because it's such a lovely clear picture - I wish the cam could always be like this.

I suspect this is Res, but really can't tell.

And I have to say goodnight - bye. :offtobed:

9:30 pm Definitely Res, JudyB! She's still on duty from the 4:44 pm COTG. Res took her own sweet time taking over egg duty from Sur! Nest was on its own for 8 minutes! I suspect one or the other was watching close by though!

:vid: Res a little slow in taking over nest duties from Sur!

9:50 pm Another long shift for Mom - couldn't find anymore nest exchanges since the one at 4:44.

9:48 pm All tucked for the night!

Good morning, everyone!

7:32 am - Switch from Res to Sur?

Res flew off just before the first picture
20200324_001.jpg

I think this is Sur - had a glimpse of his tail as he landed, though I haven't had a clear look at his eye yet.

Checking the dvr -

There was a very fast switch from Sur to Res at 8:52 am
20200324_004.jpg

She called and flew off at 12:47 pm
20200324_005.jpg

And Sur arrived a couple of minutes later.
20200324_006.jpg

I think it may have still been raining a bit when they did their fast switch (thanks for posting the weather, Bev!) - and the rain had stopped for the later one.

It's now 1:13 pm, and Sur is on the nest. His eye is looking very good today - which makes it a bit more tricky to confirm his identity.

Sur has been doing some calling for the last couple of minutes, and he just got up and flew off.

The eggs are looking good in their cozy little cup.

I'm going to log into the South cam and look around.
