Hello everyone,

Beautiful picture Sunnybird, thanks for sharing.

Peggy I love elephants too. I thought it suited the post perfectly as elephants never forget :D

Still not forgetting E14 when he covered the egg as if incubating. :rh:

And another reason I thought he was female, he was always preening. M15 does far less preening than Harriet

Take care out there everyone :huggie:

Hello everyone. I visited the nest this morning.

:vid: VIDEO: https://youtu.be/KWxn9Kc7Xzw

Incubating & Protecting On The First Day Of Spring 03-19-20
M15 exchanged nest duties with Harriet early on this 1st day of spring morning. Harriet perched in the nest tree and pond snag before flying to the power poles to watch their territory. She was watchful before flying NW and did a flyabout over the stables early on. She later flew to one of the live pine trees behind the shopping center watchful of the nest area and to the south and SE. A Red-bellied woodpecker visited a pasture snag and a crow pestered Harriet.

Just to signal a :( story at Caloosa School Nest Cape Coral, FL :
Both eaglets CSN1 & CSN2 empaled their wing on a lightning rod at their nest the 03-16-2020.
Crow intervened but too late for the first eaglet :cry1:
and so :( for the second one they were obliged to euthanized her/him. :cry1: :brknhrt:

CSN1 and CNS2 were a little more than 2 months old

So sad to hear.

If you need a peaceful calm view, check out the Mississippi River Flyway Cam
You can hear the water and the eagles. And also Trains! :)
Look at all the shades of blue. And the one Eagle on the branch.

Philjo, so sad about Caloosa. Looks like that nest is pretty precarious.

Sunnybird, I so agree about MS Flycam - I love it! Just saw a sandhill crane walking around. I posted the link on my personal FB page as a good, positive distraction during this time. Always lovely sunrises and sunsets, too.

Hatch news at the Trio nest - #1 arrived this evening. Not sure of the time yet, but posted on FB about an hour ago. Congrats, Starr and her two Valors!

Another sad news in Smola.
Yesterday a juvie came to the nest tree, stayed almost 4 hours, went back at 5-ish on the low branch. He spent the night there and left past 9am in gale winds.
Looking close at him (and his behaviour), we thought it could be Melle, 2019 male juvie.
Wonderful, right ?
Except that he has a bad injury on his right foot. probably a broken ankle.
Despite that he looked healthy and strong...
But this injury is so bad in a so young eagle. :( :brknhrt:
Melle is the most resilient eaglet i know, survived a cold storm when he was a wee one... surviving lack of food and big sis bad bonking. And now that.
Please baroness, protect your last and youngest baby :(
juvie 240320202.png
And yes, congratulations to Trio nest ! :hatch: :hatch:

Hi All!
I just read about Melle. He came back to a safe place and who knows maybe he can heal. That he made that choice in itself, a miracle. I hope he heals.......and is protected for now.
