Minna, thank you for your stories, and I look forward to your new poem. I cannot speak of of Feisty 14er without tears, either; or the other lost ones. Philjo, I think E9/14's sounds good.

Kathy's poem was amazing. I could picture it all in my mind.

Philippe and Pascale, beautiful words for our awesome E14. So many tributes, poems and sweet words for our wonderful baby. Its been the hardest time for most of us due to the sudden loss of our precious eaglet E14. Time is a great healer and I'm sure we will all heal at our own pace. Much love to you all :grhug:

On a lighter note, I have mentioned my pair of rascals, that help me in the early morning
The first two are Boo. She was very interested in what Philippe wrote one morning and wandered all over my laptop often
IMG_2806.JPG
Her favourite sleeping spot is in the bathroom sink. Go figure :%:

This is CC who loves nothing better than looking at herself in the mirror. First time I managed to catch her, and, of course she heard me approaching :oops2:

They were a great comfort to me during this last week, its funny how they pick up on your sadness, but they snuggled up to me and wouldn't leave me alone

New video from Vicki yesterday

:ty: Wskrsnwings for your video

TODAY'S MOVIE: https://youtu.be/g0beuWHW98A
H & M Away Watching Sunrise At The River? E14's Memorial Grows 01-24-20
Much to my dismay, Harriet & M15 did not return to their nest tree while I was there, but waited an hour after I left to return. The sunrise was beautiful and I like to think they were watching it 'riverside'. Sunrise was calming thinking of E14 watching it too, wing in wing with E3, E5 and Ozzie. E14's memorial continues to grow as everyone adds to it. One distant vocal was heard but, no sighting of our pair. Swallows raced back and forth in the west pasture catching insects.

Good morning everyone,

We've often talk about nest construction on SWFEC chat, largest nests, where they have been documented ect.
When I saw this photograph, I couldn't think of a better place where it could be appreciated.

Thank you so much to LaRita Nance, the photographer, for her kind permission allowing me to share it with you.

In descending order of land area it is located in parts of Pope, Jackson, Union, Hardin, Alexander, Saline, Gallatin, Johnson, and Massac counties. Forest headquarters are located in Harrisburg, Illinois. There are local ranger district offices in Jonesboro and Vienna. The Shawnee National Forest is also the single largest publicly owned body of land in the state of Illinois. It is considered part of Southern Illinois, and is south of the St. Louis, Missouri and Metro-East areas, in Area code 618. Portions of it are in the far south area of Illinois known as Little Egypt. Cities in or near the area are Carbondale, Illinois, Marion, Illinois, and Cairo, Illinois.

This beautiful area is now on my bucket list

My husband and I have been enjoying a new camera that we gifted each other for Christmas. To help fulfill my goal of learning "bird in flight" photography. Here are a few of a beauty launching into flight, taken at a nearby lake.

Thanks, Philjo. My husband estimates 60-70 feet away. I've been taking so many eagle photos lately, that it's hard to remember. The camera zooms out to 600mm.
