Re: Surrey Reserve 2019-2020 Observation and Discussion
Continuing....
I took these three pictures of Sur's eyes by going to full screen and just taking a screenshot of his head, with the idea that there may be more detail without clicking on the images.
I have an 11-minute video with some choppy jumps in it, and I'm thinking I'll try to post it just because it's a closer look at them from the side than we usually have - but my internet connection has issues with uploading big files, so I may wait to do that in a couple of hours when Charlie's watching the news and weather so I don't crash his internet as well as mine!
It's now 11:50 am, and I just checked the dvr, and didn't see any additional activity.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for the weather, Bev!
8:57 am
I checked the dvr to well before dawn and didn't see any visits, though I did have to look twice at this raindrop with a white tail!

12:55 pm
Just did a quick check of the dvr, and the only activity I saw was raindrops on the dome.

Not eagles, but there's been some activity....
1:06 pm
(Check to the left of the nest)
1:36 pm
Someone's getting bolder, though not necessarily wiser.

8:22 pm Checked the DVR back to JudyB's post and there was a short S&L visit from a soaking wet eagle at 4:37 pm. I believe it was Sur - the right eye is dark and the tail looks like his. He left at 4:40 pm.

Good afternoon, everyone, and thanks for the weather, Bev!
I just checked the dvr, and found we had a brief visit by a wet eagle!
from the dvr....
10:54 am
Adult arrives with large stick - I think this is Res. She finds a place for the stick, then s&l for a while. She flies off at 10:59 am. Weather seemed cloudy but not wet at that point.
Hard to get a clear shot while she's in motion.
A better look at her right eye and neckline.

Continuing from the dvr....
11:01 am
Sur arrives, appearing to jump down from higher in the tree (I'll check South cam later - am guessing he flew in). Just realized this is his left eye - which is more shadowed that Res's, but it's not as obvious.
He didn't give me a clear look at his right eye - but I checked his landing again, and it looked like his upper tail. He was standing on the nest and looking around as it begins to rain. And it looks as if he brought food - he began to eat at 11:02 am.
And the rain began to make it hard to see with all the drops on the cam cover.
He was eating quickly as of 11:04, though still looking around. He finished and flew off at 11:05.
I checked the South cam, and Sur flew in from the lower right and hovered briefly over the nest before floating down; it definitely appeared to be his neckline as he stood waiting for a minute, likely waiting in case Res arrived to claim the meal.
Looking quickly with the dvr, it appeared that it was a brief, intense storm, and I didn't notice any other times when there was visible rain on the cam as I looked at the thumbnails.
It's now 3:26 pm, and I didn't see any other visits so far today.

4:05 pm
Sur on nest, Res arrived with stick, sun is out - and dinner is ready here!
I'll try to check back later. Bye!

I’m afraid I don’t have time to review the 4:05 visit (all good, just busy). Have a good evening.
