gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN
: Samson, the Hamlet's mighty provider, was busy foraging today even in this serious wind over 20mph with higher gusts, as he delivers a duck foot for his precious mate and quickly leaves for a more protected place to roost. He didn't go the the LY. Hopefully winds will decrease thru the night as temps have increased since last night. Rain is unlikely thru the night with overcast skys predicted for Thursday. Gabrielle is tucked and her eggs are toasty warm. SED to all

Goodnight .. Bonjour Philjo!

Jan 23, 21:46 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 7:41 pm Rouse, Preen, Egg Roll, sleep and then at 9:41 pm same routine with a good peek at eggs ha-ha. It has stopped raining and Momma looks to have dried off pretty good. Very sleepy and tucked so the wind is not an issue.

Jan 23, 00:00 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Good early morning! It’s the Stroke of Midnight on January 23, and that means it is officially National Handwriting Day.
“The art of handwriting is now almost obsolete in today's technological world full of spell checks and easy-to-change fonts and font sizes. But it's still here- most of us don't have the time to type up a grocery list or find a program to type music. National Handwriting Day lets us all take a step back and realize what a pencil, hand, and paper can do.”

Jan 23, 00:00 jd_AEF (Moderator): “Some ways to celebrate the day:
• Start a journal.
• Send a handwritten letter to a friend or family member.
• Write a short story or poem.
• Take a calligraphy class.
• Write out a to-do list.
• Leave a love note for someone dear to you.
• Compliment someone with a handwritten sticky note.
• Pay with a check – if you dare.
• Leave your server a tip and a handwritten word of thanks for their service.”

Jan 23, 00:01 jd_AEF (Moderator): Gabrielle rolled the eggs 11:53 pm and is beautifully tucked now enjoying gentle breezes instead of gusty winds.

Welcome Egg NE22 laid Mon, Jan 13 at 6:34pm! Congratulations, Samson and Gabrielle!! AND welcome Egg NE23 laid Thurs, Jan 16 at 10:41pm! !! Estimated hatch dates are Feb 17 & 20!

LisaS_AEF (Moderator): Good Evening, We had a wonderful chat from 6-8 pm. During chat we had egg rolls at 6:22 pm, 7:23 pm and after chat at 8:17 pm. Gabrielle is currently on cams incubating the eggs. Samson was tucked at LY by ground crew. We thought we would see her cast a pellet, but it's a stubborn one. We shall wait and see

Jan 23, 21:02 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 8:57 pm she is up again for stretch, repositioning/egg roll. Oh and tried to get rid of the pellet again.

Jan 23, 22:03 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 9:46 pm She take a little break from incubating...vocals and backs up for evening PS! She gently moves one of the eggs with her talon, a little repositioning/roll and back to incubating. Seems the bugs have found their way back to the nest.

Jan 24, 23:12 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 10:19 pm Gabrielle gets up to try and shake off the bugs. Too soon for her to roll so she tries to go back to sleep. 11:08 pm she rolls eggs, repositions moss and trying to go back to sleep. Temps in the high 50's with no wind, after a rainy day yesterday the bugs are relentless tonight.

Jan 24, 23:18 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 11:15 pm she just can't get comfy, it's time to move again, reposition eggs, twigs and move that moss around.

Jan 24, 00:06 LisaS_AEF (Moderator): 11:56 pm...If only we knew Eagle Talk. Gabrielle vocalizes. Is she screaming at the bugs, announces to anything below that she is ready for a PS...Or telling Samson he better switch shifts early in the AM. We will never know. O.K. it is getting late and I'm getting silly haha. 11:59 pm she rolls eggs and tries to get back to sleep.

Welcome Egg NE22 laid Mon, Jan 13 at 6:34pm! Congratulations, Samson and Gabrielle!! AND welcome Egg NE23 laid Thurs, Jan 16 at 10:41pm! !! Estimated hatch dates are Feb 17 & 20!
