Like Pascale said yesterday only two chicks in Orange even if the third egg is still brooded a little while
and now at Melbourne the 4th eggs is placed a part so only 3 chicks and that's enought

yes it's easier to watch with 2 eggs in orange. even if there's no bonking or sibling rivalry in peregrine Falcons.

orange babies are incredibly loud. yesterday they were so loud I thought it was the prey Xavier brought that was screaming :( hopefully not !

WBSE / SE24 branched (IMO)

At 17:56 SE24 hopped on branch where lady was ! sea eagles cam consider this is not a branching as little one didn't actually fly to the.branch.

In Charente, France,
2019-10-09_11h48_08.jpg
During certainly his southward migration, this poor osprey was wounded by a gunshot.
Injured, he could not be saved.
Rip little one ! :(

The shot of anger. an osprey, a protected species, killed by a shot of sinkers
Volunteers disappointed. They tried everything but failed to save him. This week, the Torsac Wildlife Conservation Center's St. Bernards welcomed an osprey wounded by a shot gun. Despite all the efforts of the center's teams, the bird could not be saved.
"This kind of aberrant behavior continues to exist today and it is truly regrettable." As a reminder, the voluntary destruction of protected species is an offense punishable by two years in prison and 150,000 euros in prison. The administration in charge of the environmental police has been informed and Charente Nature reserves the right to make a complaint ", indicates Charente Nature, whose volunteers are disappointed by such behavior.
As its name suggests, the Osprey is a bird that feeds exclusively on fish that it captures on the surface of the water. He has an unparalleled fishing technique. He spots his target by flying over him from a height of 10 to 20 meters or by hovering.
He then plunges, head first, wings folded and talons forward, only immerses the legs and out with his prey he carries to his nest or on a perch where he devours.
The reception of migratory and emblematic birds continues at the Torsac Wildlife Conservation Center, managed by the Charente Nature association.
For anyone finding an injured animal of a protected species or wishing to help the rescue center (material, labor, donation ...) or for any other information:

Last news from SOAR
https://www.facebook.com/SOAR-Saving-Ou ... 164528389/

Now to answer some questions…
Have DN9, Allamakee, D33, and Calmar been seen since their soft-release at SOAR?
Juvenile eagles were seen perching and soaring in the area for about one week plus, then, no more sightings.
One juvenile was seen perched on a neighbor’s shed, but as Kay’s vehicle approached, the eagle took flight and soared over the nearby creek.
What has D32 been up to and do you have recent pictures?
D32 (and Decorah) are incredibly camera-shy and turn their backs to the door when Kay goes in to feed or freshen the water pans. Sorry, no new pictures.
D32 continues to be a good eater and takes the short flights from the food and water pan to the perch. Kay is hoping to get the current 20x60’ occupants moved out in the next week or so and then move some eagles into the 20x60’ flight pen, including D32, for initial flight training.

what a terrible morning for me.

SE24 fledged while I was sleeping. he went back to the nest after spending time on a branch below the nest, then fell on ground and was attacked by a fox
He could chase him and then flew off. Rangers were sent to look for him but it seems he could find a branch to stay for the night.
lady and dad were seen on nest earlier but dad left, hopefully to keep an eye on him.
Stay safe little one.

SE24 fledged today from nest to branches then back to the nest
 At a time, end of the day, SE24 harassed by birdies, SE24 flew away and landed on the ground when he had to battle against a young fox. this one ran away. Birdies still harassed SE24 during a moment. Now he found a tree not so high, but enought to avoid the fox, where normallly SE24 will spend the night. :luck:
3 views of SE24 on the ground in the 3rd one we can see one of the "Harasser"
