Good Morning Delta 2! It’s amazing what you can see with a fresh pair of eyes. I’m always looking to see what we missed because I’m just not satisfied until we know where our eagles went once they leave our sight. So I went back through the W Cam tape and found that missing eagle. Jean did a great job going to the school trees after our eagles left the tower. One of them did settle in there just before the other one landed on the nest tree branch. Here’s a short video. The first part is at regular view, and the second part is zoomed in somewhat. A split second after the screen goes to black and white you can see an Eagle come in from the right and then land in the trees. Shortly after you can hear our other Eagle land on the nest tree. I’ve also included a couple s’caps showing the eagle going to the trees. So with this, I believe that both eagles spent the night together in the school trees.

5:15 am Good morning, Sue. I was reading through last night's activities. The eagle in the tree....I looked at the shape of the tail and compared it to Trooper's visit on 9-29th. Here look at the shape of the tail from last night. But of course, have not seen Ma's tail but wasn't her's more "straight?" So I am thinking Trooper came to the nest. The next post shows Trooper's tail from the other day.

5:18 am now the shape of Trooper's tail from 9-29-19 which shows the dips at the end of the tail. Now my thoughts may be off but wanted to take a look. Great coverage last night, Jean and Sue.

6:57 am - I am logging into the cams
Sandy! Thanks for checking on the tail of our eagle. I think that both Jean and I thought it may be Trooper but with the lighting last night it was hard to tell for sure.

7:01 am - okay so I was looking around and heard someone landing or leaving the nest tree but I couldn't find them. Then by some dumb luck I clicked on the rollback and 3 seconds later an eagle came into the picture....someone is definitely helping me find these eagles.....anyway...here they are coming into the back of the tree and they went up high and out of sight.
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
Both eagles were on the nest....one went up into the tree. The first one in appeared to bring something to eat.
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
Just now getting caught up on posting s'caps
7:08 am - from what I could tell, the eagle that went up into the tree had not left at this point and then we found an eagle on the first pole 7:20 am - an eagle came to the nest...I thought they had brought something in with them...like leftovers, but it appears that there were some left on the nest(?)....this looked like Trooper to me

7:20 am - more of Trooper
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
7:22 am - I am assuming the other eagle that was on the first pole had flown off....I had taken the cam off of them because I was thinking this was Ma on the nest and wanted to be able to ID them....unfortunately I'm not sure that I was able to....at this time the other eagle came down to the nest from the right branch
They got too close to the leftover and there was a little squirmish
Okay, so here is where I am unsure as to who is who...the one on the right now looks like Trooper....I tried and tried to get to the eyes of both of these two but could not get a good shot to be sure I knew who they were...so for now, I'm not sure if Ma was one of these two eagles.
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
7:22 am - here is another shot of that one on the right
And now with the one on the left putting their head up...that now looks like Ma...but who knows. If it is...she looks very healthy.
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
7:23 am - now the one on the right went up into the tree and here is where I need Jean to ID the tail marking....who is this? I always get them mixed up!
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
7:26 am - here is a front shot of the one up in the tree...showing the ridge on the beak...and some bumps on it too

8:22m.......... .Good morning Delta2 friends! Great zooming Sue.....thanks Sandy for being here too!
Pretty sure this is Ma. Her tail notch is bigger now, but in the same spot. And this just looks like her. Considering how "close" these two are in the nest together I think we can say it is her!!
Ma's current notch. Trooper on the left, Ma on the right.
From my files................Ma's notch was smaller then..........but they do change.
WELCOME HOME MA!!

Thanks Jean! I just wasn't sure who was who....I was just getting confused and couldn't get the eyes to focus...on the eagles that is, lol....so didn't feel good about saying it was Ma. Glad you are here.Jean wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:25 am8:22m.......... .Good morning Delta2 friends! Great zooming Sue.....thanks Sandy for being here too!
