Good morning, and thanks for checking in and posting the weather, Bev!

I had the North cam up on my iPad from about 5:30 - 7:00 am and also didn't see anyone.

I'm not going to be online much through the weekend - Charlie's performing at a maritime festival in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and I'm planning to tag along and enjoy the music. Not sure who plans the timing for these festivals - I think I was at a different one this spring during hatch watch - but happily knowing exactly when the eagles return isn't crucial, though it helps us schedule maintenance on the cams.

I've had the cam up since my last post and haven't seen anyone, though I occasionally had other windows full-screen so could have missed a quick visit if they were quiet; I did check the dvr and didn't see anything.

I looked at the pictures - so glad you got those, Bev! I'm 99% sure it's not Dad Sur - the eyes look wrong for him, and you got a good upper tail view, and I didn't see any dark spots. I'm not sure if it's Mom Res - I didn't see the light stripes on the feathers, but we often don't. And I don't know that a visitor would take the time to put the stick on the edge of the nest where it belongs. So probably her.

Bev, did you notice any issue with her leg? I don't really expect we'll see a problem, but she might still be favoring it a bit.

Time for lunch and packing - I'll check in when I can. :bye 1:

Hi Judy .. I didn't see an issue with her leg ..I forgot to mention she / he was using both well .... and enjoy your weekend ..happy your are going

Looking at my scaps again... I notice this lille black mark on the tail feathers
screenshot_03.jpg
I seem to remember one of them had that :chin: if it wasn't Res or Sur ... this eagle was very comfy on this nest :) having said I have seen visitors on other nests that were the same .. like making the nest their own LOL

There were eagles on the flats at H Mills yesterday .. they are slowly returning from up north :)

I will do my best to peek in here when I can.. busy weekend for me . :) It is a beautiful day here and I am out .. BBL :bye 1:

Well, our first eagle visit of the season! I, too, am wondering if this is Res but pretty sure it isn't Sur - those eyes are definitely not his! There were several differences between this eagle and the Res we saw leave - first as Judy said, no white strips on the wings, the tail is very pointed and Res's was quite blunt, and some how the collar and her? shape isn't quite right. This eagle seems slimmer than I remember Res to be!

Having said all that, there could have been a feather molt while she was away which could account for the discrepancies and she could have lost some weight or the new feathers make her look sleeker and the upper tail is quite free from spots.

Anyway, here's a video of the visit if we want to study it more when we have the time.

:vid: Res? returns from migration!
