Trying the Pre Sets on the N Cam

Not working this is Moms perch
screenshot_25.jpg

I also shut down my computer and tried them on the Fire Fox browser.
I re-booted as well, Bev - the presets on the SPTZ are still off kilter....

Oh well - I guess that happened when the lens covers came off - but it seems worth it...

I should shake a leg - I think I've been sitting for too long..LOL

:bye 1:
Oh - are you saying that nothing happens when you use a preset - or that the cam goes somewhere, but not where it belongs? :chin:

When I saw your posts, I thought the cam didn't move when you clicked a preset - which is a different issue - and is why I called Matt in a panic and asked him to wait while I checked the presets. :oops2:

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the cams were moved a bit during the cleaning - Matt had a lot of trouble getting the South cover off. There is something that might help - I used to have to do it at Lafarge a lot because the vibration from the building where the cam was set moved the cam - and I can't remember the name of it, but will add that later. Let me know if you'd like me to give that a try for one or both cams - shouldn't hurt and might help.

And redoing the presets takes a bit of time, but isn't hard - and I'm hoping to add instructions for that in the zoomer area this week.

And I've remembered the name - it's either calibration or recalibration, and returns the cam to where it was originally set - which generally is where it was when we did the presets.

And I should also step away from the computer for a little while - thank you all for your coverage here!
Thanks Judy :grhug: the controls are not working for me either ..

I'm going to sign into North to try look at the presets and try recalibrating the cam to see if that helps.

If anyone's watching - it looked as if the cam had a small nervous breakdown - which is what it's supposed to do - it goes to several set points, then back to home.

And happily, now that it's done that, the preset for Mom's perch by the river is again showing Mrs Honeycomb's favorite perch!

I'm going into South quickly to do the same thing.

And it didn't work for South.

Matt had a hard time getting the cover off that cam - really had to work at it - and I think he moved the cam somewhat, so we may need to redo the presets.

For now, I reset the "little house" button to roughly where it was, showing the nest and closest perches - and tomorrow I'll try calibrating again, just in case - but I'm thinking we'll need to redo the presets for South.

And now I'm off both cams and out, probably for the evening.

Thanks, Judy and Bev! ... Looks like it's all covered! Thinking we'll have cam pre-sets going to where we thought they would go as opposed to where they are actually going. .... :thumlft:

Thank-you!

ADD: 4:52pm - checking back to Judy's post and I don't see a visit to the nest....

ADD: 4:58pm Saying goodnight and thanks to all of your for being here today....A wonderful day! See you tomorrow... :bye 1:

Videos of the cam cleaning. Both cams are in the videos but they are not in sync, one is 20 seconds ahead of the other. Rather than play around trying to get them the same time I left them as is. I apologize for any pop ups that appear - I moved my mouse accidentally a few times.

Morning Bev and all!

Interesting about the ticking, Bev - I don't usually notice it, but sure did yesterday when it seemed very loud...

Will take a little look around....

I'm going in on the South cam again to try Calibration again; I don't expect it to help, but want to be sure before we redo presets.

Interesting - the "Branch on Back of Tree" preset is showing Mom's perch by the river. Taking a screenshot before recalibrating.
20190903_004.jpg

And the cam moved around doing its calibration and is back at the home position.

And the preset for the branch on the back is showing the perch by the river, so it didn't work.

The cam is back at the nest, and I'm logging out and taking a lunch break.
