8:19pm...Here is that odd looking thing lying in the nest.....maybe a piece of bark, rather than a leaf. That would make sense anyway because of the recent nest maintenance and trimming.

8:21pm............Nice sunset tonight but not as spectacular as some have been. We need our eagles to make it perfect!
Very quiet and calm tonight.........no birds, except for one light colored one I saw flying near the church cross.
I am now OFF both cams.

9:07 am - Good Morning Delta 2! I am logging into the cams
Re: Delta2 2018 -2019 Observation and Discussion Thread
9:12 am - I can't tell if these are large birds in the trees beyond the first tower....will keeping an eye on them but not seeing movement so I will pan around the rest of the area and come back in a bit to check again.
9:43 am - looked around with the E Cam and saw some large birds down by the water...probably geese, but can't tell for sure. Went back to the first tower and those distant trees and those blobs that were in the trees are still there. They may be part of the tree or maybe they could be some large birds but since they didn't fly off it's hard to confirm. Just waiting for that first large bird to surprise us on the nest tree....usually we see hawks and falcons before the eagles come back so maybe in a couple weeks they will show up. For now...empty nest. The eagles will be another month, most likely.
9:46 am - I am now off the cams. Everyone have a great day!

Hancock Here: D2 Thanks
Hi All: and I mean all.
What a wonderful afternoon and evening getting the D2 nest cam bowl cleaned, several annoying twigs removed, the huge dead limbs removed, and all the details requested attended to. First, a great thanks for Stan Pennors of Cambium Tree Solutions, who did an incredible job in removing all the dangerous dead limbs that overhung the nest, changed the two very dirty CAM bowls, and answered directly the many phone calls from you mods to make sure the nest CAMS are performing to capacity.
And then of course there are you, our mods, who knew each and every blemish that disrupted viewing and spoke directly with Stan up the tree to make sure he removed every blemish. So wonderful!
This tree I thought was on its last legs. Stan, with many years of pruning as background, has given me a good bunch of suggestions of possibly extending the nest tree's life 4 or 5 years.
Again, thanks to all.
David

Good Evening Delta 2 and special hello to David Hancock and the great news about the nest tree here. Earlier today I had checked in on the rollback and had seen some movement on the nest. We had quite a few little birdies visiting and doing some cleanup for Ma and Trooper before they arrive. Was so great to see as I’ve been checking but hadn’t seen anyone visit in quite a while. Here are a few s’caps of the visitors from this morning between 9 am and a little after 10 am.
