Re: Minnesota DNR Eagle Cam 2018
Thanks bev for all the pictures and obs. I’ve been checking at night and trying to rollback but that feature just doesn’t work well on my iPad. Last night I took a few s’caps of Mom and rolled back and did see the male there with her. Only one egg as you said.
And she’s on the nest tonight, still incubating her 1 egg.

Re: Minnesota DNR Eagle Cam 2018
I’m still observing this nest bc I find it’s so interesting what with all the males that vied for Mom’s attention. Now it appears she has accepted this young male who has been coming to the nest for several weeks while she incubates her eggs. Unfortunately she only has the one egg now and he hasn’t shown any willingness to incubate so the egg has been left unattended for long periods of time. But Mom is still incubating. I checked in today and rolled back as far as I could to see any activity. Mom has been incubating in heavy snow all day without a break. She readjusted several times shimmying down on the nest bowl. The male flew in at 4:20:23 pm but didn’t bring Mom any food. She must be so hungry and exhausted by now. He nibbled her head and they exchanged gentle beakings. Male flew off at 6:34 pm. Mom watchful at 5:17; changed positions at 5:33. Snowing hard at 5:38, covering mom again. Still incubating at 8 pm.

Re: Minnesota DNR Eagle Cam 2018
A great close-up of Mom---hopefully sitting in the sun on her eggs.
There is still plenty of snow in and around the nest

Glad to see some sun there MaryF. Only one egg now but not sure how old it is. Still incubating though.

Hi Kitcat---forgot to post the scap of the one egg!
Gorgeous Mom!!
Just one egg left in the nest---most likely not viable.

Thanks, Ferenz - the new cam is great! I got the following shot from the dvr - it's from 10:56 am - and there was a squirrel exploring the nest who scurried away just before the eagle landed.
