They've arrived! I've seen a line arrive in the nest tree.
If you're watching, please help post pictures - not easy to do that while controlling the cams!
We don't have a good view down with either cam, but I'll see if I can find our crew.
The bottom part of the South/Wide-Angle cam is very foggy - I'm going to ask the climbers to look at that in case it's something they can clean. It's been that way since the beginning, and might be moisture, but I'm hoping they can remove it.
Here's a view of what I think is the same rope from the North cam, to the right of the trunk; unfortunately I can't look down without the cam spinning around.

Hi Judy! My computer is just warming up...will try to help out with some posts
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Judy, I have the embedded cams up....not familiar with this nest so can you tell me....is the one long view cam on another tree? If so, which are they doing first?
Hi Bev!
Hi Bev!

Dirty spots on North cam
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
You are welcome Judy and I posted on H Mills that we could use some help here
Hi Marg.. great you are here
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Thanks, Sue, and hi, Bev. Thanks for helping out!
I'll also post when I can, but may also need to be on the phone with the climbers, and am not good at multi-tasking (though we should be able to go back on the dvr if we miss anything, so I'm not asking for anything heroic - I know it's getting late on the east coast!).

Thanks Judy... living on the east coast has its disadvantages
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
I take it that this is the South cam (on another tree) as viewed through the N cam. If so, I didn't see any ropes going up there yet.
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Here's a look across towards the South cam (which is not easy to see with the spots on the cam covers) - I'm not seeing a rope going up there, so they may be focusing on getting one or both climbers into the Nest and working on the North cam first.
Gemini and I have phone numbers for both climbers; our climbers today are Stan, who did such a great job at Delta 2 yesterday, and Myles from HWF, who has worked on a number of these cams. I know David Hancock will also be there; I'm not sure about our tech person Ken - haven't heard from him yet. I'll be in touch with them as they work on the cams and the nest, so please post here or send me a PM if there's something you see that I'm missing.
Here's the to-do list we sent for maintenance:
1. Cams need cleaning; North/overhead cam developed some big splotches shortly after the fledglings left, and there are also parts of the South cam where we can't see clearly
2. Please check cabling and connections on Surrey North (the cam over the nest); the signal breaks up much more frequently than on any of our other cams - wind may be a factor, and Ken says it's not likely to be a loose wire, but maybe there's something that affects the signal that you'll be able to see while you're onsite
3. Some of the base sticks that Myles tied together are poking up and the eagles' tails and wings sometimes get caught up on them; the eagles themselves have tried in vain to break them or remove them and couldn't so maybe they could be trimmed
Added - you got it, Sue!

Wow Judy, I see what you mean about the fog on the cam when you look down to the ground. Hope they can fix that
