Good morning, everyone! Thanks for posting the weather, Bev, and thanks for starting our day on this and our other primary threads, nightowl.

8:19 am
Looking back, both cams were rebooted at 4:03 am, and I didn't see any activity after that.

I'd like to try a different position for the South cam - we haven't seen anyone in the highest branches (or anywhere else for that matter) - and until the leaves start to fall, it will be hard to tell if someone is up there. I know there were several times when I knew where a fledgling was - and still could not see her, even on full screen. What I'd like to try is putting the nest a little higher so we have a better chance of seeing someone in the nest while scrolling through the dvr.

Right now, the time stamp hides at least half the nest:

And after trying a few things, I'm trying with the nest more to the side. I'm not sure how well autofocus will work here - the nest tree is closest to the cam and occupies quite a bit of the screen, but it's not in the middle of the screen - but it's something to try. It's preset Branches_2/

And the sample picture isn't very clear - it's a gray day, so things don't stand out well. But on my computer, the time box only blocks a little corner of the nest.

Thoughts?

9:54 am Works well for me! I can see most of the nest now.....Thank you!

And looking back to your post, JudyB, no activity of any kind to be seen and only construction noises to be heard.

Thanks, gemini and Bev! We'll see how it goes.

I was wondering about these two dark spots - hard to judge distances, but I thought they might be eagles:

But a closer look showed that it was just shadows.

I've discovered that so far all the eagle-shaped dark spots I've zoomed in on are either shadows or a bit of roof from the houses beyond the trees - but some day we may see someone!

7:49 pm Went back to 2:11 pm on the South cam and didn't see any eagles or birds or squirrels or anything! Didn't really expect to!

Ditto for the North cam!

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for posting the weather, Bev.

I scrolled back on South until around the time of gemini's post and did not see anyone. I did see something on the nest yesterday, smaller than a squirrel - maybe a chipmunk or a lizard if you have them there? I didn't try for a picture because it blended in very well with the color of the tree, and didn't wait around for me to log in so I could zoom in on it.

North has a spinning circle so I'm rebooting it. I mentioned to Ken yesterday that it was pixelating a lot, and I think he reboot the Wowza server twice to try to clear it up, but don't know if that helped.

7:58 am
Nice nature sounds - a bit of breeze, maybe some crickets. No eagles.

Good morning to you all, I didn't see any action on the nests or around them. Yes, Judy, we do have squirrels and chipmunks but as far as I know no lizards. there would be baby squirrels out now so that could be what you saw.

Thanks Judy .. we had a chipmunk on the H Mills nest once and a squirrel also .. the only nest I saw a lizard on was the North East Florida Nest.. and as you know we had a green Anna's Hummingbird on the nesting and saw her many times taking material from the nest to build her own :) and I hope when they do maintenance on this nest .. something can be done with the N Cam.. :luck:

Sorry Beth ... just saw your post! :oops2:

Thanks, Marg, Beth and Bev - I hadn't thought about baby squirrels. And I'm glad the eagles aren't using the nest now.

5:30 pm
I've heard some eagle trills over the past few minutes - but haven't seen anyone.

Good night, all. :offtobed:
