Bonjour Philjo and good morning Heather and all.. quiet nest, thanks for the scaps of the juvie yesterday Heather, few and far between when we catch them. I will not be watching much more and will end the thread when they stop coming or if the cams go off. All the action as we know from Facebook and Karen Lippy and Heather Altenback is at the lake. I wanted to take this time to thank Philjo and Heather for all the help with this thread this year. It was a wonderful successful year for this family.
Weather forecast for the nest area today

I sent a message to HDonTAp this morning about the cams and this was their reply...
"We are going to try and keep the cams up as long as we can. We will be going to Hanover in the fall to reposition the knocked cameras...."
So we want to thank HDonTap for their cams and the work to fix them!
It appears that the eagles were not around today.. lessons to learn..
Have a good evening Heather and Philjo...

Thank you Lynne , Karen Lippy said she was down at the Lake and no sign of Stars or Stripes..... this evening a friend of hers saw Freedom and Liberty perched on the family tree and said Stars and Stripes must be out exploring etc.
Goodnight Lynne
Thank you Philjo and Goodnight/Good morning.

As this year comes to an end, the nest is falling more and more we acknowledge the successful year of Liberty and Freedom. Stars and Stripes have grown according to plan and dates. They are now 17 weeks old. They are starting their lives as juveniles. The first year of an eagle is the juvenile stage, after they turn two they are then considered sub adults until the age of 5 when they will be considered adult eagles. At this point they will have their white head and tails and ready for mating and starting families of their own. Liberty and Freedom have done this for some years now. This was the fifth season of the eagle cam and the fifth season of me covering this nest. There were good years as well as bad years but such is life in the wild world of wildlife. But we have to take the good with the bad too. It has been a true pleasure to follow these eagles for the last 5 years and journal their nest and families and tragedies.
The cam will stay on until they are ready to reposition them. Liberty and Freedom will be back I am sure in late November and December to start this again. By the looks of the nest they have a big job ahead. I watched as they rebuilt this nest this year after it pretty much collapsed and it was a true sight to behold. Amazing actually, no blue prints, no architects no inspectors! The eagles knew exactly what they were doing as they always do. This phrase can tend to be over used but it is appropriate... Trust the Eagles...
I will be keeping this thread open for at least another two weeks but it will be shut down for the season after the 15th for sure. I want to thank you all for tuning in. Next year will be another fun year and more to learn as we continue to watch and trust the eagles...
Have a blessed and safe summer everyone
Lynne/Photofun
Nest as of today at 8:45am on this date.. and the count up timers for Stars and Stripes. 17 weeks old... Eagle on!
