Good afternoon, everyone! I'm also late getting here - and likely to be busy for the next couple of days, but I'll check in when I can.

Looking back quickly.... (some of these are based on my notes)

Ess on the nest at 6:07 am, then off again. Adult in with food at 6:22 am, followed by one fledgling; second one tried to land a moment later and was fended off by first one with big mantle. North cam was pixelating so not easy to tell who has the food - when the image clears, the tail feathers are in the wrong position. 6:47 am - I think this is Ess - and I'm hearing someone calling as well. It's been the same eaglet the whole time - just hard to identify.

Second fledgling showed up just before 7 am (peeking around the corner of the nest - it's still Ess in the nest, so Dee on the perch.

And I just realized I missed a delivery when I was watching this live this morning. Actually I missed two very rapid deliveries. And the second one I think the adult passed the fish to one of the fledglings without touching the nest!

That was great! Two deliveries within about a minute - and when the dust settled it looked to me as if each chick was holding a fish and taking it to her preferred dining area!

:vid: Food For Both (1:16)

I'm not sure which parent or parents made the delivery - I know the bay is close, but I'm thinking they may have each brought a fish because I don't know if one adult could get there, grab a fish, and return that quickly.

And I've reached my limit for typing for the time being.

Here are my notes if anyone wants to look back.

Something happened at 8:53:10
Someone left at 9:07
And at 11:29 (approximately) an adult came in and one of the fledglings put on a lovely flying display on the way to the nest - I'll try to do a video of that in a while.

On a personal note - I have my next arthritis treatment on Tuesday, and it's not uncommon for my joints to act up for a week or so before the treatment - and often I start feeling better by a day or two afterwards - so I'm hoping I'll be able to be here more by mid-week. We do also have both friends and family from out of state in the area this week, so we will also be doing some things with them.

Hope you're all having a good day!

PS - I rebooted North.

6:37 pm Went back to 2:45 pm and both eaglets have been hanging around the nest tree all afternoon calling out off and on, switching back and forth between the favorite sleeping spot and the slanted branch perch as well as a couple of other perches. I didn't try to keep up with who was where but I do know that Ess left first at 6:06 and Dee followed shortly after at 6:31- I guess they decided calling out wasn't going to get them something to eat!

I spoke with David H today, who was surprised that none of this family have left the nest yet. He figures this is just another eagle family who hasn't yet read his book about eagles and he is not pleased! :%: :grlol;

Just hanging out

Good morning, everyone!

Don't tell David - but they're back! :mihihi:

One arrived around 5:23 am
20190715_001.jpg

And they were both there by 5:28 am.

Sur arrived at 5:46 with part of a bird, and was followed in by both fledglings, one after another (they had flown off at some point - maybe to pester him!).
