I visited the Lansdowne/Beach Dr. nest today. I saw one eaglet in the nest and one of the adults flew in and perched in the nest tree while I was there.
There has been no action at the Golf course nest for weeks. I didn’t have time to stop at the Sylvan Lane nest.

My friend and fellow WiTS volunteer Marie saw and photographed an eaglet in the Sylvan Lane nest yesterday She got a nice photo of Mom peeking through the branches but unfortunately didn't see her feet. We are still trying to get confirmation regarding a band on her left leg. I will ask Marie for her permission to post a couple of her photos here.

Re: Oak Bay Eagles, Oak Bay BC - 2018/2019 Season
I visited the Lansdowne/Beach Dr. eagle nest site today. I viewed the nest tree from the side street behind and saw the eaglet perched beside the nest. It flapped its way up the branch and sat there looking out over the ocean. I drove around the block and viewed the nest tree from Beach Dr. The eaglet was perched at the end of the branch and flew off in the direction of the Yacht Club before I could get my camera out. I drove down the road to the side street where the adults quite often perch and spotted the eaglet in another tree close to the adults, both in the perch tree. It squawked a few times and the adults finally flew off towards the ocean. I drove down the road to have a look in all the trees but didn't see the adults. I went back to the side street and the eaglet was still there.

Lansdowne Eagles cont'd.
The male was very busy preening just before both adults flew off.
The eaglet was still calling when I went back to the side street.

Re: Oak Bay Eagles, Oak Bay BC - 2018/2019 Season
I went to see the Sylvan Lane eagles yesterday afternoon. The female was out on the marker on Trial Island.
The male was in a tree near the nest tree and was being harassed by crows. His beak and tail feathers
were stained red so I assumed he had been enjoying a meal.
The eaglet was calling and calling from the nest. I couldn't see it at first but then saw a dark blob peeking
out from behind the branch.

This is a very difficult nest to see if the eaglet is still in it. This is a view from the other side of the nest.
The eaglet hopped up onto a branch beside the nest and I finally got a clear view.
