Good morning, everyone - and thanks for the weather, Bev, and thanks to you and Marg for the morning pictures!
I think I've been seeing something interesting this morning - I'm not absolutely positive, but I think that Dee is branching on the high perch where Ess has been sitting, and it's Ess who is exploring the branch to the right of the nest where Dee was yesterday! I may try zooming in on tails and see if I can confirm that, since the North cam needs a reboot.
By the way, I consider both of these locations branching - they are in the nest tree, and the eaglets can get there without flying - but they are outside the nest itself. And yes, the perch on the right is on the sticks they used to build the framework of the nest - but I think the concept is the same as at the Delta nest where there are smaller real branches supporting the nest which the adults use and the Delta eaglets are now using as they begin branching.

Well, this is very cute - but doesn't provide the right angle for an ID!
This isn't quite in focus, but this is indeed Ess's more square tail with the bit of white at the end of the feathers.
Sort of handsome sitting there!

G'morning Judy
Which one has the white tips on the tail feathers?

Younger eaglet Ess has the white tips, and I think her tail is a bit more square, while Dee's is a bit more rounded looking, at least some of the time.

I'm doing another reboot of the North cam - still pixelating.

Thankee ma'am.
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Checking back on the dvr, there was a food drop at 5:46 am - not sure which adult, maybe Mom Res.
I'm also not sure which eaglet got it or what it was - my impression was long and furry, so maybe squirrel or rabbit.
It's now 8:45 am, and I didn't see any other visits. And I'm out for a while.

Good morning all,
Hoping to be around a bit today -
Dee, I think becoming more independent on Independence day!! A first on this branch I think - at least I haven't seen either one of them there yet! (keep an eye on Ess as she watches closely from below!)
Dee's fun adventure!
10:40 am checked back on the DVR but no food drops that I could see since JudyB's last post!

Good morning.
Thanks, Bill for the last video, don't they look handsome sitting there together?
Morning ladies, I was wondering if the last log prey was a rat? I noticed yesterday that one of the eaglets was chomping down a long thin tail..yuck! thee have been a few deliveries like that and they eat fur and all. A good way to keep the problem under control for sure.
I am awestruck o how beautiful our babies look now. When they both perch together. I looked this morning g and I thought one was gone, then I noticed they were on the branch. When they leave, do they just leave or do they go with a parent? Do they come back to the nest again? or is over for the nesting? So many questions here.
I haven't been able to see a drop-off today but I am sure it has happened.
Going back to look around. bye for now.

Hi Bill, Great video of the "Double Trouble!"
Yes, I've seen both on the big branch, I was referring to the one that juts out! At least I think there is a small branch that grows out from the side ... maybe I am seeing things?? Does anyone else see it besides me?
It seems to show up better in a night picture - or is it something else. It's hard to tell!

Just checked back to my last post and both are pretty well in the same position. Ess lying down and Dee up the tree! No food drops that I could see.

Glad you caught that, gemini - I was watching some of that! It didn't open for me the first time I tried, so I logged into the YouTube Channel, and I think it might have been marked Private - that's happened to me before, and I have no clue why because I sure didn't pick it. Hope that's OK.
And great video, Bill - you caught so many of their tricks - flapping while they hop-walk up the trunk, hopping over each other while jump-flying down - they are getting good!
And thanks for the night shot of the branch off to the side - I thought Dee had to be on another branch, but couldn't see it among the leaves. I think it's too high to see with the overhead cam, but I may try next time I log in.
