Great Spirit bluff Falcons
they had 2 chicks, one was killed by a GHO and the second fell from the box several weeks ago in foliage below the nest.
a raccoon was around and was the major threat to Carson. Michelle and her mate Newman fed the little one, and yesterday...

he came back !!!

Thanks Phil for the 3 Ds updates. So good to see them improving. Tufty is so adorable and so lovable. :luck: little one. Do you know how old is he/she? Looks like close to fledging age.

Sunnybird great pictures of the very good looking eaglet. You are so lucky...

Lady Hawk has a video of the Smola eaglets called Sibling Cuteness that is very cute indeed :rh:

Hey, first TOTAL ECLIPSE of the sun coming to a city near you since the great one in 2017. Will be seen for 6000 miles.

Europe baking in a heat wave.

Feel like have been off work forever. But only off one day. The zen of working in flower garden. Ah nature.

We all need stress busters. Mine is flowers and water.......the ocean, the lake. Or just drinking it on a hot day.

so so sad for these 2 young eagles... :brknhrt: :cry1: how can that happen. if they have been voluntarily poisoned, I hope the .... who did that will get punished !

but yes happy 2.5 years old mon petit poulet ! :eag: I still have a thought for him every day!

and congratulations to stripes :woohoo:

Rain doesn't stop at Smola but our 2 youngsters are training those big wings for their branching. they should be named soon. contest should be launched in the next hours/days ?

Big girl looks even bigger than mom sometimes :w00t:

Little has sure the character. he's gone through so much. I often think about SWFEC e8 sometimes.

Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC
I tried to summarize

June 2019
The 3rd. 2 beautiful eaglets in the nest
The 15th. One adult in the nest
The 17th. Some people think the 2 eaglets fledged away or hidden in the trees around
The 20th. One fledged eaglet and two adults were seen at or around the nest.
The 24th. Two adults were seen in the early morning. A neigbour was able to see the eaglets but no movements detected. He contacted the official services.
The 27th. A guy up to an adjacent tree from where he confirmed two eaglets were dead in the nest. One climbed to the nest and brought down the two poor little bodies for analysis.
the 29th. One saw an adult eagle circling near the nest

One the 3 last pics posted on the thread from Sassyk, :ty: very much Sassyk
it was the 3rd of June, they both were so beautiful

Happy Summer, everyone!

Phil, thanks for posting that precious photo of our E9. I think of him often, with sweet memories, too. Thanks also for the information about Tuffy; quite an amazing story.

So sad to hear about the Beacon Hill eaglets.

Eagleslanding, I agree that being anywhere near or on some type of body of water is so relaxing and nurturing for my soul.

Pascale, I am so enjoying the two Smola kids. Seems like they already have (unofficial) names.

My husband and I went on a nice bike ride . We saw several osprey nests which was nice and the coolest thing was seeing a juvie eagle. We saw a raptor flying, so we were heading in that direction. He swooped down to the ground, and then we saw him walking awkwardly. Don said I bet he has some prey clasped in one talon. Sure enough he then stopped to eat, so that was pretty cool watching this beautiful juvie having his picnic! No camera with us - sorry.

for those interested in Tuffy, the other Hawklet raised by eagles, Dr Sasse and D. Hancock are on the site in California and will be live from 5:00 PM PMT - 8:00pm EST - 2:00am French time

Laniebelle, there is now an official naming contest for Smola eaglets - finally.
They're doing great and I'm glad baron and baroness finally raise 2 cuties after 3 years with only one chick :rh:
