Wow - this is great!
6:32 pm
I'm pretty sure this is Res who just brought in one of those big bloody things that might be a seal placenta. She started by feeding Dee, and then Ess moved in to help herself.
6:42 pm
Res is still on the nest feeding the chicks from whatever it was that she brought.
6:45 pm
Res just flew off.

Here the 4 quick visits from 5:14 to 5:44 from the South cam perspective. I think the first was by Mom Res, and the next three were by Dad Sur, making up for lost time - but I have no clue from this how his leg is doing.

Oh, Judy, you are so right, little fluffy birds and I too wish they ate tofo I had to look away, I feel for the mothers and fathers of the other chicks..just call me a softie.
Thank you for the video's, I have been worried and seem to miss all the feedings. I was happy to hear Sur was around too.

Hello everyone, we are back That didn't take long at all...chicks are pretty wet this morning after our storm last night and this early morning. All seems well right now but I believe we are getting another one. If I'm not wrong this is the first time Dee and Ess have been wet to the bone. I wonder if they wonder what is going on?
Okay off I go, might try get back before we head out but if not I will see you all later.

Good morning, everyone!
I caught a feeding at 5:26 am, when the forum is down. I think this is a very wet Res, and I think the delivery was another of those messy things; she stayed and helped feed the eaglets for a bit.
Video in a minute, then I'll check the dvr, and then there was just a delivery at 9:26 am which I'll report on
Big Breakfast (2:30 minutes)
Added - it's a bit tricky looking through the dvr - wet eaglets sometimes look as if they have white heads!

I found a quick delivery at 8:44 am - I think this was Sur, with a fish, and I think Ess got it.
Sur's tail as he leaves.
I don't have a definitive picture of a tail, but I think I'm seeing white tips on the one who got the item, and while the rain makes it harder to judge anything, Ess seems more rumpled looking to me, while Dee looks sleeker - maybe because Dee's feather development is a bit ahead and Ess has more down poking through still?

From dvr - 9:36 am visit
Ess was lying on the nest at the start of the video and was the one to grab the food. I see Sur's smudge on the head, and am seeing that he's resting on his right "heel" rather than using the toe part of the foot that adults normally use while he's delivering the food item, which I think is a bird. (my pictures click bigger, though not full-screen)
Sur may be using his toes for balance here, but I think the weight is on his left leg.
He did go to the perch afterwards, and appears to be letting his foot hang down while he's there. It almost looked as if he was trying to use it, but it wasn't responding well - though I think he was grasping some with his toes, which is good.
View of Sur's Foot (79 seconds, both cams)
I haven't gotten around to doing a timeline for Sur's injury (or updating the one for Res) - but just looked back and it was 4 days ago, on June 23, that we first noticed the injury.

Around 9:57 am, Dee found something on the nest and started working on it, while Ess continued working on the item delivered at 9:36 am.
Dee had been looking for an opportunity for a steal, so I was watching to see if that happened, and it hasn't so far - but I think she did find something left over from the series of deliveries last night.
10:48 am
Both eaglets look to have nice plump crops!

Wow - I can't step away for even a minute! I thought I was all caught up, and left the room for a few minutes - and came back to find one of the eaglets eating. Details to follow....
10:58 am
Sur in with another small bird; Ess got it. There's a little look at Sur's leg.
Sur's 3rd Delivery (40 seconds, both cams)
At some point Ess moved with the prey, and Dee went to where Ess had been and found some bits to work on - not sure if they were part of this item, or something from earlier.

1:40 pm
I just looked back to my previous post, and did not see any activity, other than one of the eaglets moving from where she'd been perched on the edge of the nest to the middle of the nest for a nap.
While I'm thinking of it, I may not be on line much tomorrow. I'll try to do some checking in the morning and again in the evening, but no promises.
3:30 pm
I just looked back to my earlier post and didn't see any activity. North cam was pixelating so I rebooted it, but unfortunately it didn't reset the dvr - funny how sometimes that works and other times it doesn't.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Hi everyone, we just got in, I went out and helped my husband in the yard for a while and as we were working I heard a big commotion, I looked up in time to see three crows after a large Hawk, the Hawk was so upset it almost flew into the upstairs window of the 3rd floor apartment ( we live in a retirement manor ) I was so worried for minute that it had met its fate..it was close. It goes to hoe how much the parents go through looking after their babies. I am glad he made it ok but sorry for the crows that were trying to save their young.
I looked back and haven't seen a one drop off yet although I did read that you said there had been Judy. and ty!
As, for Sur's foot, he seems to be holding it the same way Res did when she hurt hers which means it should heal as Res's did..TG!
I am glad we are seeing him, it takes the stress od f the worry off.
I am off for awhile, so far no more thunder an lightning and the chicks look dryer.
Take care Judy.

Just checked back to 3:30 pm and a food item came in at 4:06 pm. Dee got it and Ess tried her best to steal it but Dee hung in there and wouldn't let go!
Dee hangs onto her prize! (1:40) Both cams
It was Res that brought the food item in (her tail and cowlick on her head) - not sure but it may be a fish?
A bit off topic (and a bit of fun):
I was just having a peek at the Delta nest and I must say the pristine condition of their nest speaks volumes to their housekeeping abilities - especially when compared to the Surrey Reserve nest! Trooper (Dad Delta) is continually bringing in fresh grasses and burying the evidence - you sure don't see any of that very often at the SR nest!
Maybe Trooper is an obsessive compulsive eagle? Anyway, you gotta give him an A+ for housekeeping!

6:19 pm Res in with one of those icky red dinners - Ess gets to it first but easn't quite sure what to do with it and hesitated a second too long. Dee was in like a shot and grabbed it. Ess attempted a steal but to no avail. Eventually Dee had her fill and left a small bit for Ess.
Dee gets the dinner again! (3:05)
