Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
This has been such a bad year for many of the nests Sorry to hear about the NJ falcons...Pascale, I’m so angry at those 2 spraying water on them. I’m hoping that they did not know what they were doing. Also sorry to hear about the Roberts Bay eaglets...Eagleslanding, do you know what happened to them?
Thanks Phil, Lannie and Sunnybird for your updates and links for the Decorah’s eaglets. love your pictures of the Mississippi River, Sunnybird.
I’m only following closely the Smola nest, this is the third season for me...those two eaglets are so cute and smart, just like their parents. Thanks Pascale for posting the scaps here.

Father’s Day Nest Notes: Dedicated Dad & Loyal Mate
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA EAGLE CAM·SUNDAY, JUNE 16, 2019
M15 is honored on Father’s Day as the loyal mate to Harriet and dedicated Dad to their offspring. As a young male Eagle, M15 made a grand entrance into Harriet’s life in her time of need, endeared himself to her and won the right to be her mate. He has matured into an exceptionally skilled provider and protector for his family. His rugged, fierce demeanor is tempered with his tenderness in caring for his young and attentiveness to Harriet. Over the Seasons, M15 and Harriet have grown solid in their bond to each other and have successfully raised seven offspring who have gone off well prepared to live their lives as majestic Eagles. M15 has far outdone himself teaching his young with patience and devotion. He looks tattered and worn as nesting Season draws to a close. He has given all he has unselfishly for his precious family. M15 has begun his well-deserved rest now that he has mastered the role of Eagle Dad. Nest Notes by dadsjazz

Thank you Laniebelle for Dad's Jazz tribute to M15.
I just saw the update page for D33, "She" has been weighed and measured and moved to a 10 x 20 flight pen.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Sunnybird, thanks for the update on D33. I found a little bit more info on the Explore page:
Update from SOAR on D33 on June 17, 2019......
~ The Eaglet Nursery ~ The snowy owl residents of one of the 10x20 flight pens were moved to their air conditioned summer quarters (Iowa heat and humidity are not what snowy owls like). Then the 10x20 flight pen was cleaned and made ready to be the 2019 Eaglet "Nursery."
Why only a 10x20 area? These eaglets need space to stretch out their wings, start flapping exercises, and making short flight attempts from point A to point B. Too much space, too soon is not always the best.
The first eaglets ready to move from ICU to the nursery are D33 and a hatch-year 2019 bald eagle from Allamakee County. These eaglets are reliably eating, drinking, and pooping. Any medication routines needed are complete. Patients will often "telegraph" that they are ready for a change of scenery.
Moving days like this are the time when eagles are weighed, a beak depth measurement taken, blood drawn for a blood lead level (if not already done), and a dose of ivomec to control external parasites. (We'll post separately about parasite control!)
D33 weighs in at 11.5 pounds and her beak depth measurement indicates she is a female. (Again... we'll post separately about beak depth measurement).
Allamakee is boy weighing 8.5 pounds and a beak depth consistent with male bald eagles.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Philjo, thanks for the video links for the Trio nest as Harmony and Joy fledged. I thought the two of them would fly off together, but it was just a few hours apart. I am sure they are exploring together. It sure would be nice to have them return to the nest for visits. It has been a good season for the Trio this year, with the exception of Peace being knocked off the nest, but it seems that he is doing okay underneath the nest area.

Nestfriend go to the board index on Hancock Wildlife. Scroll down to ---'nests in BC with ground observers'. Click on that and search for Roberts bay nest site and click on that. There are alot of wonderful nest sites to follow up on on the board index.
The Australian sea birds laid their first egg on June 16.
There is a site on Hancock wildlife board index for your Smola Norway eagles. Under eagles outside of north america. Lady Hawk posts on that, Ferenz, Pascal also. You and Pascal would be great co-topic assistants for that site on Hancock.
Where are you following the smola eagles if not there. Looking for your posts there.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Thank you all, oh my gosh such heartfelt kindness brings tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart! You all are the best!, Thank you, Peggy, for your kindness and you are correct we have not chatted prior, which makes you a special person to share such kindness, and I so agree with you, this is a family of some amazing folks. A very special group of nature lovers and of many precious Eagle nests.
Kitcat, I am sorry to say that I did not receive your messages and think that some of mine were lost as well, but know that all of you were in my thoughts as I would try and catch up on several of the Eagle families. Many of the nests have changed partners this season and it was good to see so many have 2 or more eaglets, minus of course the Sauces nest, but I must say Kai's antics sure made up for being an only eaglet!
I have tried to keep up with the Trio nest, Decorah's nest and of course the Pritchett most amazing life and times of M15, Harriet, E12 & E13!
Stay safe this summer and look forward to being back this fall. Give your loved ones an extra hug everyday
Rainna
