That's a wonderful video Judy, I love the way they both look so proud of their fish...lol.

I wonder too Judy, about Res's tail, she sure is one good mom. She seems so tolerant of her chicks..lol.

I checked the dvr and then rebooted the North cam so it will be easier to look back.

Dee and Ess are dozing in the nest.

Both cams were having issues, so I rebooted both of them. I'm afraid I forgot to check the dvr first, but all is going well so if we do miss a feeding it's not a big deal.

This should help folks looking back this evening and overnight - and I'll be watching for a little while, then I'll need to say goodnight.

1:58 am Went back to 5:15 pm on the North Cam DVR very slowly, stopping if I thought an reaglet looked as tjhough it might be eating, three times, and there were no visits by an adult that I could see. Finding it a bit odd that neither showed up, I did the same on the South Cam but got the same results.

Thanks for the videos, Darlene and Judy and all the scaps everyone! I am home tomorrow and will try and get enough battery time to do some videos and/or scaps.

The bad news is the part I ordered was out of stock - the good news is I got an email today saying it will be delivered here by the 18th!

Good morning, everyone!

I was starting to look back on the dvr, and saw a white head - one of the adults was in with something at 5:47 am - and one of the eaglets was trying to claim it.

I think the adult held onto the food item, and began feeding the eaglets.

I'm still not sure which adult this is; I think it was Dee who tried to claim the item initially, and Ess in the front shown getting a bite.

As of 5:51 am, Ess was working on something - possibly what was just brought in.

Continuing....

The adult - I'm thinking Sur - then moved over to Dee and started working on the fish that was left over from last night, giving Dee some bites and also eating some.
20190616_004.jpg

Then back to feed Ess from some bloody looking thing.
20190616_005.jpg

The adult seems to be on a mission to find and feed all the leftover food in the nest - which seems like a good idea to me! I know that eagles don't really have a sense of smell - but day old fish in this sunny weather could be very ripe!

Continuing....

It's not easy to judge sizes on a cam - whoever is nearer the cam looks larger, and whoever is standing a bit on the edge looks taller. I've been trying very hard to see if one of the eaglets is bigger so I can stop saying he/she all the time and pick a pronoun - and I haven't had much luck with that. As I continue watching (this is a nice long visit), I'm pretty sure both eaglets are at least as big as Sur (and I'm pretty sure this is Sur - no white stripes on the feathers and no limping that I've seen).

I think the eaglets' bodies are probably done growing at this point, but they will be strengthening their muscles and their feathers are still growing, so they will look bigger as their feathers grow. The feathers the eaglets are growing now will be longer than those the adults have - that helps them when they are learning to fly - so by the time they fledge, both male and female eaglets should be larger than Sur - and if either or both are female, they will likely also be larger than Res.

Continuing....

A couple of pictures from the other cam.

Sur flew up to the little perch and away at 6:22 am - so he was on the nest about 35 minutes.
