I know what you mean, Beth!

I just looked back to my previous post, and did not see any visits.

I think this means that they haven't had a food delivery since yesterday afternoon - and they are plump, well-fed young eaglets, so that's not a major cause for concern - but it is unusual.

12:04 pm
At least one and maybe both of the eaglets are calling for food - which likely means they see one of the adults. They're not getting up, so I don't think the adult is coming with food - but they may be reminding him or her that they would like some.

Going in on the North cam.

Well, I didn't see anyone - and it's windy enough that I didn't want to leave the cam looking towards the water. By the time I was done, the embedded cam was pixelating, so I'm rebooting it, and then I'm out for a while.

The chicks were calling loudly, so I wondered if I might find one of the adults perched nearby.

12:45 pm
The chicks are lying on the nest.

Hi Judy, I went back and checked also and no visits, I wonder if the wind has anything to do with it? The chicks are calling so they are hungry. Okay, off to look again and maybe play a game or two.. be back later.

The wind may be making it harder for them to catch fish, Beth - though we've had windier days when the eagles have been here more. Although now that I think about it, I don't know if we normally saw Res more than Sur on windy days. I doubt it - but never used to pay much attention to which adult was in when as long as I was seeing both of them and the chicks were being fed.

Added - hi, Bev, and thanks for the link.

Still no visits, but I do hear some beeping in the background. I wonder if they are delivering material to the house with a large crane? or crane-like thing..maybe they are scared to go near the nest. Will keep an eye out.

That is a good thought, Beth - the eagles are used to the normal construction in their neighborhood, but something unusual and tall could spook them temporarily.

I'm going to take a quick look around with the South cam.

I didn't see anything obvious. I thought it might be a nice day to take a peek at Mt. Baker - but I think we need to wait until the fall!

I'm rebooting the South cam - the controls were jumping around, and it hadn't been rebooted in ages, so this will also make it easier to look back for visits this afternoon and evening - and I do expect to see Sur, though maybe not until after 5 pm if there is some sort of new construction work that's bothering him.

And when I reloaded the page after the reboot - North had a better picture of a flap-hop than I'd been able to get!

And South isn't coming up, so I need to go see why. Bye....

Well drat - I can't get the South cam back up, and Ken won't be able to reboot the server until later tonight.

I did hear an adult calling, but no one has come to the nest yet. I'm watching the South cam using the direct link available to zoomers, just in case we have a visit.

Thanks, Judy, :)

Okay, Miss worrywart here is at it again. I still hear the beeping sound, (like the garbage trucks) make but I know its not a garbage truck. We get them here at the building sites and they sound the same..they usually put windows and gyprock into the houses so that could be it. I'm hoping thats it, I feel for the chicks, they seem so hungry. It must be a long day for them. :(

There are definitely construction vehicles working on the housing complex next to the Eagle Reserve tract of land - but they've been there since before the eagles started working on the nest for this season.

And I'm getting nervous too, Beth - and hoping Sur is stockpiling food to deliver at 5:05 when the crew breaks off work for the night.

No, I didn't - and while I haven't been able to spend a lot of time looking, I have occasionally seen eagles down by the water (mostly blocked by leaves now), but have not found the "babysitting perches" I expect they have where they sit and keep an eye on the nest.

What I'd give to see just one of them..Mom or dad. I can't see anything in the trees either.
