Good morning, everyone! Thank you all for your observations and screenshots, and I'm so glad you were able to get some videos of Mom Res, gemini!
I reviewed the dvr back to Bev's post and didn't see any visits.
Dad Sur arrived at 6:28 am with a fish. Dee, at the top, grabbed it - and after a moment Sur grabbed it back and fed the chicks.
Dee might have gotten a bit more, but Ess also got some good bites. As Sur was leaving, Dee grabbed at his tail feathers - which I've seen the eaglets do before. So if his tail is looking a little worn, that may be why!
As a reminder, I won't be able to watch much today; I will have my phone with me so should be able to check email, PMs and the forum - but the focus of my weekend is supposed to be nautical music (my husband's passion as eagle cams is mine - and something I also enjoy) - so I plan to spend most of my time listening to sea chanteys and haunting songs of the sea and enjoying the lovely weather. Thank you all for the coverage here, and I will be checking in when I can.

Good morning everyone, it's 9:28 am here, I've been looking back to see if Res (Mom) has been feeding the chicks. I see Sur but not Res. I sure hope she is alright. She is such a wonderful mom.
Judy, enjoy your time away.

10:22 am A quick check of the DVR and nothing much has happened in the last hour. Ess currently laying down and Dee is cruising the nest for leftovers.

Hi Bev and Yolande and the rest of the nest I came because JudyB stated that you needed a rest Bev so here I am
A first impression so sorry I did realize when I looked at my scapes a second time that it was seagull for a meal but I didn't realize one of the eagles had a bad leg until I scrolled back..... but they are building up that area into lottery million dollar homes so just maybe the adult got injured at the construction site and also got into the plastic garbage in the area....I know it well as I'm from Vancouver area Marpole where the Marine Drive nest is near the Airport and close to Davids home on number 1 street into Canada
By the way that hammering going on in the background.....is the nest in South Surrey...….Surrey Reserve is the where the cam is?
1:06 PM seems like someone is building something close by the nest sounds of hammering one of the eaglets is eating leftovers on the nest while the other watches
hey what you eating leftovers? Can I have some
click on scape to blow up
Hi Bev and the rest of the Surrey Reserve regulars, heard you needed me so I'll come once a day can't promise what time but I will help you out JudyB

Hi, Beth here again aka BETHINB.C. Has anyone seen Res this morning or afternoon? I still can't see when a parent last fed the chicks.
Just wondering.

Sur brought a fish to the nest, can't tell who took the fish but it has it in its talons.. I have to learn the chi ks names better. Still no site of Res
Re: Surrey Reserve 2018-2019 Observation and Discussion
Good afternoon, everyone! North cam had a spinning circle so I just rebooted it.
looking back on the dvr....
2:32 pm
Sur delivered a fish; I think Dee got it first, and both of them were around it for a while. I think they eventually got in, but I have no idea who got what.
I did not see any other visits between gemini's at 10:22 am and now (4:25 pm) except the visit Beth caught at 3:07 pm.
JudiW, there's a lot of information about the nest and the housing complex that's being built around it on the opening posts of this thread and on the cam page. There is definitely construction going on nearby, but there has been for quite a while - and the eagles chose to use this nest on the Surrey Eagle Reserve land that was held back from development so the eagles could live here. I have not seen any plastic on the nest.
Beth, the eaglets are named Dee (pronounced like the letter D) and Ess (pronounced like the letter S) in honor of Dawson & Sawyer, the developers who helped make the Surrey Eagle Reserve and this nest possible. They are very hard to tell apart. If you get a good look at the ends of their tails, older eaglet Dee has black tips on the feathers and younger eaglet Ess has a bit of white on the end of many of his/her tail feathers.
We are looking for other features to help us tell them apart, but so far it's not easy to know.
