A spring snowstorm to freshen up the earth. And now a blizzard coming across. Winter has not yet released us. Yet the pansies, yellow forsythia, hyacinth and tulips are popping up and don't forget the daffodils. The earth is coming alive with abundant growth. Even though snow is not yet out of the question. I love the cold better than to hot of a day. But here in the north a blizzard is stiil making its way through. I love as the seasons go through their changes.

hi eagleslanding

both Decorah eagles and eaglets look ok, they had a hard time yesterday.

I hope things get quieter now. Ottawa region in Canada knows flooding. in Norway temps are higher than in France :no:

My miles city eagle cam I also watch is under a blizzard warning. These late storms are hard as so many northern nests are full of new hatchlings. As is the case of miles city nest in Montana. But the parents are so patient with their new hatchling in these severe weather events. Very new little one welcome to the world, your mom will protect you on a winter day. Not good for the feeding though. Today was a good day a good wecome though.

Surprising news - E12 is back! Must have known we were all sad, missing her and her brother. Yes, I must admit that E13 was my favorite, too; he was a character and a loud-mouth at times, reminding me of our beloved Niner. I think they both are such extremely good looking eagles.

Here is our Pond Princess; I think she was missing Her pond.

SO happy we have a few more hours...maybe more...of E12's company! The morning will tell if our Pond Princess just needed one more dip, or if she'll stay a day or two. :luck:

here is a family portrait of Smola family: Dad, #2 in front and #1 in back.
#2 got welcomed by -very- bad bonking while he was 4hours old only but multiple feedings- 12 yesterday, 7 since this morning at 1:00pm helped in calming a little the aggression of #1. oh 8th now :grlol;

Pascale, thanks for posting the beautiful portrait of Dad and his two cuties. I'm glad they were born close together. They both seem to be doing really well. I can't believe how many feedings in a day; these parents are awesome! So glad to have two eaglet babes this year; Solo and Elida were wonderful, but the dynamics of two is always interesting.

Most of Iowa has been declared a disaster. Because of all the rains and snow melt causing severe flooding. Even the county where decorah is. What happened with Davenport Iowa where the levee broke has left the town and buildings under water the past few days is sad.

I know most of the locks and dams around the Trios eagles have been closed because of all the flooding. The mighty Mississipi River.

Surely the rain will clear up.

The eagles are high in the trees safe from the floods.
