Chincoteague eagle cam... where the wild ponies run free. A book was even written on chincoteague island. The eagle cam is a must. Why isn't this eagle cam listed with hancock wildlife.

Sorry and then the eaglet is gone. But if you want to follow island life on chincoteague island and the wild ponies and their wildlife refuge feel free.

Local Illinois Eagle Update:
I checked my photos from the last 2 years. Mere & Pere had bobbleheads on April 15, 2017.
Last year, 2018, I had video of Mere & Pere feeding on April 5, 2018. Looking forward to seeing nest activity in a few days? :hatch:
Hi Sunnybird, do you rememeber "les grands esprits..." Yesterday i checked my messages and still no messages from you about Crab Orchard Lake and as before you sent us a pic with Mom/Dad in the nest.
Before to write to you i found your message here. So all is good only wait and see now ! :huggie:

"Les grand espirits se rencontrent"
I went out this morning to check the nest and lake for eagles.
No eagles at the lake. No eagles on "Eagle Tree".
I did find a parent, I think Mere at the nest looking to the South (lake).
Probably waiting on Pere with breakfish.

You can double click on 1st pic to see better.

2nd pic is from Saturday. At the lake---Eagle in Pine---very far away. Eating.
Date/time stamp is correct.
:luck: Wings crossed. I will keep watching.
FYI: Mere & Pere's breeding schedule is around 5 to 10 days with the Decorah nest.

Philippe, so sorry - thank YOU for sharing the beautiful Desiree photos of our two striking E's!

Pascale, thanks for sharing the video of D32 taking a tumble. That was so funny, although I know she didn't like it one bit. It was amazing to see her go after the fish, as if Mom was not feeding her fast enough. I've never such a young one do that. Very spunky.

So excited about D33's hatch, and yes hopefully D32 will not be too rough on the new one.

A major storm system is working its way through the USA. The northern plains through Minnesota a blizzard. Winter storm warnings and in some places severe thunderstorms. Winter storm Wesley. Minnesota DNR eagle cam listed on Hancock boards will get a direct hit by the blizzard. Decorah eagles will be back in the whippy winter winds and snow. Not sure if Trios gets the snow
or severe thunderstorms.Either way its a big system moving on through. Mom sit on your babies or eggs. You can do it one more time. Not quite sure what we will get here just yet. Oh and you thought it was spring and put away your snow blowers. Mother nature had us all fooled with the warmer temps.

oh no that sounds bad eagleslanding
Decorah chicks are so young... :luck: I wish mom Decorah will keep them warm, well I have little doubt about it but also DM2... Decorah north eagley is older but might be in danger too.
It's snowing now...

Fraser point : one eaglet fell from the nest early this morning and was seen on cam on the ground and okayb :w00t: . someone from IWS Is on his way to check him.and rescue him :luck:

on a very sad and angry point of view end of March a young eaglet was rescued after falling from the nest and caught by a dog. after his situation was assessed they found he had a complicated fracture of the wing and minor injuries. they proceeded a surgery on little one. he looked ok.
2 weeks later he ate well but seemed to not handle physical therapy very well. because they thought the situation was bad... they made other xrays and they euthanized him !!! they even didnt wait a little more, to see if things could improve

here is little one history - update is at the bottom of the page

I know I'm not a vet but I think this decision was quickly made and I'm not alone to think this :cry1:

Quite a storm hitting many states. Here in Colorado, grocery stores closed this afternoon even; my workplace shut down at 2 pm. I'm worried about the 2 eaglets at the Fort St. Vrain nest in Platteville, CO. Dad spent several hours on the nest keeping Mom company as she hunkered down over their precious eaglets.

Pascale, thanks for posting Lady Hawk's video of the Fraser Point rescue. Good to see that sometimes the authorities can manage a quick and efficient rescue. It was great that the guy also tried to build up the nest rails, too.
