Hi all
What does the age counter on the main cam page count today?
Hi Miina!
Today's age counter on the Pritchett's website is:
E12: 06d 22h 44m
E13: 05d 11h 37m
I know they are older than what the counter says! Not sure what is going on....
Official Eggs hatched dates are:
E12 (egg #1) - 12/23/2018 - 11:26AM.
E13 (egg #2) - 12/24/2018 - 10:35PM
~Have a great day! ~Journi

12:02pm - While the eagles are away, the horses will...drink some water!
The sky is getting lighter now! .
1:41pm - Well...now the sky is full of rain!

1:11pm - Harriet seems to be tracking something over towards the yonder pond.
(The rain has stopped! ) Harriet left the outer attic right after I captured the above scap...and was headed across the road.

4:26pm - A possible attempt to get a fish in the water by an E...?
E sits on pylon and looks down into the water towards the left... 4:26pm - E glides down towards the water and misses it's attempt to grab something in the water... (red dot) E pulls up from the water without anything in it's talons...and continues to fly over the pond
and then lands on the other side of the pond.
(Excellent try E! )

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2018~2019
Here is the video from March 12 that I delayed finishing because E12 fledged and we all were celebrating that event. Enjoy, you can see how ready E12 was that day.
VIDEO: https://youtu.be/BJ3sCgMd79g
Great Hovers & Flights To Branches The Morning Of E12's Afternoon Fledge 03-12-19
One could feel that E12 was ready to fledge but had not when we left after 11am. Both E's flew to branches in the tree with confident landings. E13 hovered high over the nest for an extended period while E12 hovered over many of the tree branches they perched at. E12 watched Harriet as she soared above in all directions, imprinting and instinctively knowing he/she will be doing that soon. M15 brought fish and Harriet brought grasses.
Thank you Vicki for posting this awesome video! ~Journi

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2018~2019
4:41pm - A big gust of wind takes E12 for a little ride in the nest...and almost over the nest!
The red dots show where E12's head is and the yellow dots show where it's tail is!
Head is down into the nest and the tail is straight up in the air! Head is still down into the nest and the tail end is still up in the air...almost going over the nest!
(Upon futher review, it looks like E12's left wing is what the wind caught at this point.) Somehow, E12 turned it's body sideways and righted it's body so that now E12s head is pointing back
into the nest and it's tail is not seen since it's over the nest rail!

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2018~2019
6:11pm - Looks like there is a local Tuesday night duck meeting tonight and...
An E is over on the pond bank taking it all in! 6:32pm - Another E (red dot) comes into view from the left and is chasing a duck...this chase looked
like the E almost got the duck! (The other E is still over on the pond bank.) 6:32pm - The duck chasing E flew over to the other E and a scuffle started!
I believe the bird flying at the top right of scap is an adult or the other E.
(And...the ducks are still in their meeting...Looks like they went into small discussion groups...?)

7:08pm - An adult and an E are perched on the DSPS.
The E flew off towards the front pine area right after I captured this scap. 7:09pm Looks like it's raining...no one home at the nest. 7:57pm - One E is now perched on the outer attic.
