Feeding happening, then I hope she gets the eaglets back into the nest bowl !
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
Food has been delivered but it's gross so I won't post a pic of it. Eaglets are closer to be back into the full nest bowl, but in a much better location. Nest is swaying in winds. Mom is covering them with grasses.

Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
Pa did a food drop, Ma managed to get the eaglets to move into the middle of the nest bowl and now all seems to be good, the nest is slightly rocking in the wind and the wind song is playing in the background. I think Mother Nature's lullaby is doing a great job.
I am signing off for the night, hopefully someone else will be able to post some night time scraps.
Until tomorrow, stay safe family

Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
The IR is on and Mom is settled over the kids for the night. All appears calm although the nest appears to be swaying some so I guess the wind is blowing. Crickets are singing a nighttime lullaby. Hope I can get back during the day tomorrow. Thanks Rainna for all your posts and pictures. Those little ones are so cute and at least one is going to be an escape artist.

Oh Philjo56France,
You brought the first giggle to my not so fresh eyes this morning. Love the game and so far these eyes have found 2 of the mice, nibbles is bringing in many "clean up crew" these days, he best be careful before he or one of the others become part of a meal. Could only find 2, hubby said your seeing double and maybe to much wine.
Ma is tucked in, looks like you can just see a tiny bit of gray fuzzy just under her breast. The nest is still swaying to and fro and I do not see any sign of Nibbles and Company. Hope for another great day at this nest with lots of good things to eat!

Adult is up and stretching, twilling for the partner to come in now. All 3 precious bab's look good.
Partner arrives and picks up a nestover for feeding, looks like part of a fish. Nibbles was in.

All is good at the nest this morning. Baby's are growing and so far it seems like the bonking is minimal. I anticipate a fish delivery soon.
Does anyone know if they name the eaglets at this nest?

Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
Intruder alert, must have been followed in. Intruder is being persistent, adult fly-off to chase intruder away. Mom continues feeding again
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
All seems to be content now, Mom has grasses snuggled in front of her for wind protection of the 3 eaglets. The wind gusts are still strong and there is some moving of the nest side to side, but it is a strong nest so no worries. I can hear little chirps from under mom so maybe a feeding soon?
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
So Precious! Makes my eyes tear up with happiness!
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
I am not worried about the 3rd little one, he needs to rest due to being outside of mom for a few hours during the night last night. Playing catch up on some much needed rest.

So very funny Philijo56France, and yes only great wine where you have your nest! Silly humor on our part.
I thought where the two behind Ma were part of a nestover, sneaky little mice for sure. Your so sweet to have taken that picture for us all to enjoy. Thank you very much and hope you saw the our attempt at being humorous.
Please forgive me if you did not.
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
It seems like it was a good day today for the family. I was only able to be here very sporadic today, but from what I have seen it looked good. A food delivery of a large size bird was delivered. All seems good tonight and hopefully the weather will stay nice and the winds will die down.

Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
Good Morning Sauces fans,
Philjo, so happy we both have a little fun with nibbles and company!
Today is another day of high winds predicted. Some gusts could be as high as 33mph. Ma and Pa will surly keep there precious one's underneath them during the day. Hopefully little-bitty stays put under the parents.
I am still wondering about naming the eaglets prior to any ID markers, if anyone knows please advise me.....otherwise I am going to just use names on this forum until it advised not to do so. Anyone who wants to add in a suggestions please do so. I have already give the name little-bitty to the 3 eaglet hatched.
The pantry has a good amount of food. From what I can see there is a headless fish and what is left of some type of white bird?, and something red back in the nest that looks like part of that seal someone else mentioned prior, must still be washed up on the beach decaying.
Ma is on the nest, Pa came in to see if a switch was needed and Ma said no, not this time. Pa has left. I did get a sighting of some gray fuzz for a very short moment. Hope to see the eaglets soon and post.

A feeding, and back to snuggle down, but still no switch with the parents.
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
A nice sunny breezy day, love the eaglets soaking up the sun!
Re: Sauces - Santa Cruz Island - 2018
Prior to the two older eaglets getting feed, itty-bitty was enjoying the lions share with only Mom's attention. To soon the other two woke up and are now all are being feed.
