Do you think your couple is brooding yet or just trying things out for size?
I was there around 3:00 on Monday the 18th. We only saw the male perched in the tree near the nest. No calling nor sightings of Ma.
Nest looks good. No sign of low down brooding on zooming in on the nest.
3151.jpg
Male in relation to nest from the far side of the nest, along Stalashen Rd.
3148.jpg
The brown rim of the male's tail likely indicates that he is a new adult.
3143.jpg
I went back to check on former pictures of the new male. One in November shows his tail whiter than this one, no brown edging. :chin:

Thi evening, after I got home from being out all day, I saw one in the nest it wasn't sitting high. We'll have to wait and see Sandra as I haven't been able to watch the nest through the telescope as often as I usually do. Not a very clear picture but I assure you it was there (near the trunk).

Through the telescope.
Yesterday, I was lucky to see a shift change one flew out and the other flew in and settled on the nest.

Nice seeing you here Heather! I was out on April 1 looking for white heads in our nests. The only one I found at the nests I visited was here! I knew it should be thanks to your telescope report Marg.
As seen from the mailbox corner.

More than half way from the nest tree to Port Stalashen at the end of the road.
3214.jpg
I was hoping to see the white head from the beach as I get good pics of the kidlets from there. Not to be.
The nest looks good though.
3215.jpg
No sign of the other eagle. A nice peaceful visit around 3:00 pm.

Thank you for your post heatherj.
We have witnessed a few of what we believe are feedings but cannot see any eaglet/s yet from our telescope.

I got to check on this nest last Wed, the 15th. Found Pa perched on our former Pa's favourite perch branch near the nest but my goodness, how dirty he looks! I'm only assuming he is the same eagle I've been taking pictures of and not another new male.
3492.jpg
Nice and close to Ma in the nest with 1 possibly 2 youngsters. Grey head in front of Ma! :woohoo: Can click pictures bigger x 2.
3498.jpg
Ma picked up a piece of food but this youngster does not seem interested. No calling for food from the nest. Can see the eaglet if you look carefully.
3502.jpg
Preparing to move to my left side of the nest.
3503.jpg
Getting into feeding position away from the other eaglet.
3506.jpg
Going deep to feed. No calling by an eaglet.
3507.jpg
Road under the nest. :thumlft:

Through the telescope.
I was lucky and when watching witnessed a shift change. It is still hard to tell if we have one or two eaglets but I suspect 2. :) One flew in with food and the other flew to the branch at the side (a favourite branch). Click to enlarge. :) Taken about 5:40am.

Great proof of one big eaglet Marg! I visited on the 4th, found Pa on the nest calling, facing the Strait. I should have followed his body language more carefully because after the fact I can see he was getting ready to fly out. I missed the shot. He flew toward the water and Wilson Creek.
On speaking with another neighbour, she said there is 1, possibly 2 in the nest. That's 2 neighbours who have worded it that way but like you and me, have only seen 1.

I am still only seeing one big eaglet and we look often.
One parent on branch and one big eaglet lying down occasionally I see a wing flap! If I see two big eaglets I'll certainly post a picture taken through the telescope from 300' up.

Good morning everyone. I've been waiting for our lone eaglet to do some wingercizing and capture it although we've seen it doing that I managed to get a few pics today. lol When I was taking the pics I wasn't sure if it was still wingercizing. :D It won't be long before it fledges.
