Here's a great 30 minute video that tells you about the history of the Decorah nest.

Philjo, thanks for posting Mary F's photos and info about Decorah here!

I enjoyed reading about eagle ambassador Decorah again. Soon, he will be fully mature. I know that Kay at SOAR and Decorah have established a nice bond. Thanks, MaryF, for posting this.

Decorah North hatch confirmed this evening. Hurray, Baby North #1.

Speaking of snow on Smola, I enjoyed this video from a few days ago by Lady Hawk of Baroness shaking off the snow.

Lady Hawk: For those that missed this -here is the video of Baroness getting completely covered by snow while she was incubating yesterday. It really is amazing to see how these eagles protect their eggs and cover them for many hours at a time only getting up to shake off the snow and wetness from their feathers before resuming incubation! This really shows the dedication Baroness has for her future family! 🦅💙🦅 Be sure to watch her shake off the snow at 8:22 it is amazing!

welcome to both Decorah north little ones and trio's :rh:
west end : 3 eaglets, same as Fraser point, Dale hollow... each doing more or less good. Great at dale hollow, I'm enjoying watching them from time to time.
at sauces only 1 little one- 2 other eggs broke. the chick eats a lot of sea lion placentas... ewwww.
as long as there are no alive foxes - even little ones - brought in it's ok.
I'm watching S1 every day... a cute and very well fed little one ! and yes s/he reminds me of you-know-who :huggie:
he should try to self-feed maybe...
there is another WTE nest in Hungary
when the babies were a few days old dad - a very young one - disappeared for 2 days 1/2. mom stayed as long as she could, left for hunting and I thought the youngest won't survive - starving and bonking
hopefully dad came.back and both eaglets are OK. except bonking

no one could see little Decorah north N10... only DN9 is fed today
DNF is a young mom.
Well DN10 lays down in the nest bowl :cry1: :cry1:
later dad pulled little one body out of the nest.
RIP little DNN10. I'm sure DN6, DN7 and DN8 showed you the way to the Rainbow bridge

Oh my, this baby is adorable just like the one responsible for my addiction to eagles. See for yourselves. You are absolutely right Philippe, thanks!
