Re: National Arboretum, Washington, DC (AEF) - 2018 + 2019
Hi everyone! I have changed the name of this thread to National Arboretum in keeping with the name change made by the American Eagle Foundation for this nest. They noted that "purpose for this change is to be more descriptive to our location and to also properly credit our partner at the US National Arboretum."
Their new website with links to both cams is now live - https://naeaglecam.org/ - and I've changed the link in the first post to reflect that.
There is also a new event log for 2019 - Link - and there are not eggs yet, and they apparently have had another eagle visiting, so it's not clear what may happen next.

Great to see the cameras working. One of the eagles was completing some touches on the nest.
Hopefully we will see eggs soon.

Hi
Not quite sure but I believe this is the First Lady perched above the nest. Looks like a nice nest bowl.

5:19--Just checked in on the nest and witnessed an eagle chase. One, maybe two eagles got too close to the nest. Finally Mr. P perched and an eagle is seen flying in circles.
As I type MrP is still on the same branch. I tried to get shots of the chase, but those eagles fly fast!Re: National Arboretum, Washington, DC (AEF) - 2018 + 2019
Washington DC
I believe this is Mr. President perched on their favorite branch. He is calling out and in between preening.

Still calling out.
Just wondering if anyone has seen the pair in the last couple of days. The only time I can check is the evenings after work.

5:35--MrP hops down to the nest where he continues to vocalize periodically and is constantly looking around.
Re: National Arboretum, Washington, DC (AEF) - 2018 + 2019
Sandy, according to the Event log TFL and MrP were together early this morning.

Washington DC
Eagle is currently in the nest looking around and calling out.
I am wondering what is going on. Seems he has not stopped calling out.
Again, not sure if Mr. President but will assume it is because the eagle immediately reached for a stick and moved it after arriving at the nest.
checked again the nest is empty.
