Good Evening NCTC, Ferenz :bye 1:

Eggciting day ... Bella laid her first egg of the 2019 nesting season.
Congratulations to Smitty and his new female Bella ... so happy for Smitty after the sad season last year.

Bella labor did seem longer compared to most i have observed so i wonder if this is her first egg?
Watch the video and let me know what your thoughts are.

It was a beautiful day at this nest despite the "winter storm"

The adults have had intruders in their territory; the nest is in prime real estate so there has always been lots of "traffic" thru this region. I hope things settle down for this pair. We are on second egg watch at this nest.

Congratulations to Bella and Smitty on their second egg of the 2019 Nesting Season.

632 pm
Bella laid her second egg just after dark.
We have not had a good visual of both eggs yet as it is dark but my video shows all the posturing of egg laying.

The NCTC pair have had to endure some stormy weather this past week and today they are expected to get a few more inches of snow.

Mom spent a good part of the day incubating but Dad provided some cover off so Mom could get a break.

Here are some captures put into a collage from their afternoon activity today.

Partial view of one of the eggs; pretty sure when the egg roll was performed we caught a glimpse of the second egg.
The egg cup is deep so we only seem to get glimpses.

Evening Friends

The NCTC pair have been doing well; taking turns incubating and Smitty has been gifting Momma Bella with gifts of fish too. Love the interaction between this pair :rh:

Mom often has to nudge Dad to get him to give up incubating duty

An uneventful day at the nest; Bella and Smitty took turns incubating their eggs although Bella took the longer stretches.

627 pm
Dad brought in a tiny fish "gulper" just before dark :mihihi:
Mom gulped it down.
