I guess that's Justice?

Hi, , as usual, Ferenz, your scaps are beautiful. In the scap of the closeup of the feet is there a talon missing on the foot? That is what it looks like.
These are the kinds of photos that make it easier to identify a particular eagle. You have a real talent!
Thank you for all your scaps here and all the nests you cover!

Thursday February 28th
Thanks so much for getting this thread going and thanks so much Ferenz for taking such great scaps of the goings on. It has been a tough couple of weeks but as you noted, Justice did come home yesterday and reclaimed his nest. Liberty was seen going to the roost before Justice headed there last night. We have heard her in the back ground so we are sure she knows he is back. Today has been a quiet day after he left the nest at 9:25am.
At 12:10 yesterday 2/27/19 Justice makes his return. The intruder eagle we dubbed M4 was on the nest and a battle was to insue, in comes Justice!

Thursday cont..
Justice lets everyone know who is back in town! Some id marks are his tell tale two white feathers on his right hind leg, his light colored bibb and a small fleck in his left eye.

Liberty and Justice left their night time perch early this morning and flew to the nest where Liberty did some rearranging in the nest. Both left for the day. Later Justice came to the nest with a huge catfish which he ate on his own..
Justice hung out on his perching branch for several hours as the rain came down and just before dusk Liberty comes to their roosting area and Justice goes to the nest looks for nestovers then joins her at the roost.

ECC Eagle Cam ~ Raccoon Eats Liberty's Eggs Tonight 3.5.19
From Lady Hawk
Published on Mar 5, 2019
A raccoon climbed up into the nest tonight and broke into and ate the non -viable eggs of Liberty & Justice. Coincidentally, Justice brought in roadkill raccoon earlier to the nest - Liberty did fly in and take it and eat. Truly nothing goes to waste on these nests. Thank you for watching!

.Just to let everybody know!! ----- I just found this notice on F. I had been waiting to find out about the cam before setting up a new thread for the season
The Earth Conservation Corps to Anacostia Raptor Watch
Dear Dedicated Eagle Watchers,
Although we have been working DILIGENTLY to fix the camera & stream, we have been unsuccessful. We have exhausted all efforts to work remotely... It seems we will need to work on the camera directly. This is not something we would do during nesting season. We have managed to get this screen shot which does not show any evidence of nest prep. It is our conclusion that the eagles will not be nesting at the police academy nest this season. We are DEEPLY disappointed but will get to work on the camera directly when the coast is clear this summer. Many thanks to our dedicated team who worked tirelessly - we sincerely appreciate it & we know you prolonged this as you had hoped for better news. The ECC remains so very grateful for community’s continued patience & support. We do hope you will continue to post any observations & eagle filled news ! Look forward to a bright future filled with plenty of eagle action !!

Fund Drive for Hard Drives
Good afternoon, everyone! I have just learned that we do not have the hard drives we need to record our cams as we approach little chick time - and we do not have the funds necessary to buy them.
These are the high resolution drives that are connected directly to the cams at the site, making it possible to record high quality videos of events at the nests - and we usually have them up and running before the eggs are laid. As you know, we already have eggs at three of our four nests, and they are likely any day now at the fourth nest - so time is of the essence.
Our tech person Ken is estimating that it will cost about $7000 to buy the high quality, high capacity drives needed for our 9 cams, and while we are keeping up with our regular monthly expenses, we don't have the extra money needed to buy and install the hard drives.
I know this is a hard time financially for many of us, with many businesses closed - but it may also be a time when some of us are staying home and watching the eagles after cancelling planned trips or dinners out - and I'd like to ask those who can to contribute towards these hard drives.

I'm slowly making my way through my list of cams in North America - and as far as I can tell from the links in the first post and related pages, there is not currently a cam for these eagles and doesn't seem to be a plan to install one. I did find a post on the Anacostia Raptor Watch Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/AnacostiaRaptors) from someone who lives in the area and saw eagles flying in the territory last summer, perhaps the pair and an offspring - so I'll hope they are doing well out of the public eye.
Unless someone has more information, I'm going to lock this thread and move it to the "inactive" area.
