Good Morning All,

Iona my heart goes out to you, two loses in such a short time. I wish I could wrap you in my arms and make it better. :brknhrt: :huggie:

Elle - love your turkman, he is so much like my porter.

I had a very interesting visitor this weekend. I had a juvenile pileated woodpecker feeding from my suit feeder this weekend. He was small, but definitely pileated. I have never seen one of them at my feeders before. My suit feeder is especially made for woodpeckers, it has a long wooden extension for them to rest their tails against. He stayed about 6-8 minutes.

We had cold weather over the weekend, but not too wet. But tomorrow we have a potential for ice and snow - bluck :cold1:

Hugs all around,
:grhug:

Windy: Are you sure it wasn't a Downy Woodpecker?
Yes Porter and Turkeyman are alike. :)

Iona: I expressed my condolences on FB and will do so here as well. It is hard to believe and a devastating loss of such a young spark. My condolences to you and your family. No words suffice.

Elle - certain it was not a downy or a red breasted woodpecker, I get lots of those. It definitely had the pileated markings and crest, and was larger than a downy and slightly bigger than the red breasted. Wish I could have got a picture. I was pretty shocked myself and took out the binoculars to get a closer look. I guess the fellow was just hungry enough to chance it. He didn't look to be in poor health from what I could see.

Evening Luvs,

Dearest Iona,
holding you close in thoughts and blessings prayers.
Thanks for the nest visit Happiness.

Elle&Ian, enjoy, and bring us some pics please. :)

Wind, I'm now in pileated country, so more to learn for me and looking forward to it. I'm pleased to live in my local one's territory.

I've also had a red bellied stopping by the yard.

Every day i see/hear the red shouldered hawk. Yesterday it was being harassed by a crow and stopped on a limb about 10 yards above my back porch; got a good look. I also read hawks and crows nest in proximity to each other for the benefit each offers. A love/hate/tolerate relation.

:rh: the poem for Iona & loved ones, Carolyn.

Scott,
the BBu's seem to hit home often. :)
:ty:
