Last news from Redding (ca)
After the loss of Spirit the male, Liberty was with a new mate but Eaglewoman wrote yesterday
"I got word from Roger this morning that Liberty & her new mate's nest came down in the record-breaking snowstorm we had here in Redding on Tuesday night! We got 7 inches of snow at my house, but some areas of Redding received up to a foot of snow! The snow here in our area is very wet & heavy, so we tend to lose a lot of trees(especially ones that don't lose their leaves like Live Oaks). Sadly, the weight of this much wet, heavy snow on Liberty's nest was too much & it fell to the ground... "

And here is the video from Eaglewoman

Good Eagle News!
Double Click for larger view

This Sunday morning, I went out to our local lake & Refuge area. I checked the nest. No activity. Drove to the lake. No Eagles.
Drove BACK to the nest, guess who was there? I think it was Mere. She does not like to pose for camera. ;)
But she was giving me "The Eagle Eye" :)

First photo is from 9 Feb. I did not see white head/beak in nest until I uploaded on my screen. :woohoo:
February is month for Eagles to lay eggs in this area.

Hi Sunny, great news :thumlft: , you have just to wait for the eggs now … ! :luck:
Just one more thing, if you want us to see a bigger photo when we double click on it, you must attach a bigger photo on your thread.
As yours are 90 ko and 128 ko when i click on it i have acces only at the same format as i can see in the thread
If it's possible to put some bigger pics, it will be better for us all. Thanks by advance :huggie:

the juvie who was found electrocuted in Smola, Norway is not Elida, it was a Male. :cry1:

It's still very sad. the autopsy confirmed electrocution and stated that this young Male was very healthy.

RIP young beauty WTE, fly high and say hello to Stille :eag:

Great Pics Sunnybird 💜

Sunnybird, thanks for sharing photos of "your" eagles; so neat to have them close by!

Philjo, sorry to hear about further troubles for Liberty.

Pascale, so thankful it was not Elida, but sorry the young healthy male was electrocuted. So sad to die a senseless death in this way.

Here's some good eagle news today:
Trio Nest - Starr laid her first egg (in just 6 minutes); both Valors are so proud!

B12 took quite some time to hatch, but Mom and Dad Berry are so happy to see him/her

Fort St Vrain (Platteville, CO) now have 2 eggs (laid Feb 13 and Feb 17); they often have 3 eggs, so we will see. :eag: :hatch: :rh: :eag:

The eagles are coming to roost at the Camas National Wildlife Refuge. So many eagles sounds interesting.

Another icy storm coming our way again. What this is the fourth. I have lost track. So icy our streets. In this whole area very difficult to find a bag of salt. As soon as a shipment comes in to a store it sells out immediately. Oh for want of a bag of salt. A slippery slide to the car. So many times calling the road commision to please salt our street. I could sing the salt truck just went down our street after weeks of calling.

Hi Eagleslanding
Seconds after seconds, minutes after minutes, hours after hours, days after days, Spring is on approach !
Take care. at this time last week and this week here we have a weather corresponding to an April month
Earth is telling us something, do we hear her ? i think the answer is "NO ! " :(
When i say us, i'm not thinking really about us, just about which ones who have the power
