Today IrishEyes wrote "Pip Watch Day 36 for egg # 2 " so we can still :luck: for a possible 2nd hatch... :rh:

And for me S2 is already on its way out :luck: :woohoo:
Here, at 10h36 Mom is feeding S1 and we can see the hole on the egg
but as the rain is heavy Mom didn't let us more time to check,

Horrible ice storms, snow storm sweeping the country. Oregon getting 14 inches snow. The California mountains feet and feet and feet .... of snow. Where is all this coming from. Hope my electricity stays on. Stay safe you all in the storms path. Somehow just take one step at a time. And all eagles and humans will get through it. The ground hog saw his shadow on groundhog day February 2. But honestly spring cannot come soon enough. You can always watch the movie Groundhog Day when your snow or icebound. March where are you?

sad news from Redding (ca)

I have some upsetting news to share with you today...
I checked on our Redding Eagles this morning at Riverview Golf Course & it appears that our Miss Liberty has taken on a new mate. I wish I had answers for you, but I just don't know what has happened to her beautiful mate Mr. Spirit?!?
Following viewtopic.php?p=153086#p153086
(This is the nest of Liberty and Patriot, then Spirit
Solo (rip) was their son 2017, and last year the nest collapsed with the 2 eaglets inside. They were safe and continue their eagle life now...

ECC liberty female eagle left her egg in the middle of the night.
Male intruder is close but won't breed the egg... another sad outcome to be.

Yes I am so sorry too. So much bad weather this year. Even Redding California under a winter weather warning and they hardly ever get snow. The eagles nest in Pennsylvania just whistling away in high winds with incubation going on. And rain and mudslides in California. And ice and snow in Iowa and Illinois. Around here 0.50
inches of ice. Weather extremes everywhere in the US. Yet the eagles are incubating their eggs. Down south a little milder for the eagles. The northern eagles are having it rough this year.

The Pittsbugh Pennsylvania eagle incubating the egg is up against the tree branch for support. His/her feathers have been blowing up in the air. The last time wad a bit much the feathers and eagle tipped forward a bit to much. So the egg was rolled and the eagle turned to face the wind. Know how you feel little one.
The wind chill here was -15F. And high wind warnings I went out of my car and my door blew so hard I thought the door would blow off the wind whipped it right out of my hand.
