Washington DC

This eagle does not look like Mr. President or the First Lady.
Possibly a sub-adult?
I could hear an eagle thrilling in the background.

Yes I'm sad we can't copy over all the photos, but glad at least we haven't had eggs laid yet.

Your right Sandy, that looks like a sub-adult, maybe 3-4 years old as they seem to have most of their white feathers.

Looks like MrP was in the nest and didn't seem to upset at the sub-adult

MrP came in to aerate the nest bowl and tweak the rails.

Washington DC

Mr. President and the First Lady are staying very close to the nest.
I think the clock is ticking and we may see eggs this week. :)
Nice to see the leaves starting to open.

Washington DC

And when the job is done Mr. President scratches his head and gives himself a shake.

Washington DC

Just getting ready to turn off my laptop when I decided to check the nest and who should be there but Mr. President.
Mr. President was working the nest bowl when he moved over to the nest edge and was looking downward. Not sure what he saw but he was quite interested. I know at another nest there was a mouse which used to visit the nest. Maybe a mouse was below running through the branches. A minute or so later the First Lady showed up. She walked around and Mr. President worked on the nest bowl moving grass around.

Washington DC

Last screen shot for the night of the First Lady and Mr. President.
They are both spending more time at the nest or in close proximity to the nest.
Must be a sign....
